I agree with you that it can sometimes be annoying when the AI has a little pack of bombardment ships that he runs past you and hits a planet in your back lines etc. But for me this is just typically a minor annoyance then a game halting issue. Basically I usually have a force somewhere near to deal with them or I make a new little "security force" group of maybe 5-6 LRM's and maybe a carrier ship or something and chase them off etc. My biggest complaint right now with the game to be ho
I was having trouble locating it but I figure maybe its because Im on Vista and its slightly different? For me the folder was hidden, so I had to go to 'Tools' then 'Folder Options' then 'View' and select to see hidden folders, then the correct pathway showed up.
That did it thanks.

Yep would be nice to have some other options. One other idea that could be interesting to add..... Maybe a "Assassination Mode" or something similar. Basically each side starts with a say....level 5 Capital ship. This ship has your "Leader" on board. If the ship is destoyed you lose. Perhaps to keep hiding or hemitting from being too much of a problem even make it so that everyones "Leader Ship" can be seen on planetary view at all times. So everyone knows where your s

Someone didnt read up on the game very much. I think that probably 90% of any negative posts people will make on this game is because they expect it to be C&C in space or Homeworld 3 or something.
One important note here: Don't confuse complaining with throwing ideas or suggestions out there. There's a difference between complaining and discussing the pros and cons of a product or strategy.
Exactly!! Being I got slammed by Astax or whatever...I wasnt even a person who has started any nerf threads or anything. I was only DISCUSSING the topic in the 2 posts I made. Many people on this forum seem to have the mentality of "If you make a post it better be freak
It hurts real players having you submit stupid ideas all over the board, and having the Devs dig through the misguided suggestions you post.
Another thing...Im not sure what your referring to but probably the 2 posts on this subject I imagine. In both cases I have come back and said I didnt think they were the best ideas but just discussing the topic other people have brought up. You dont see any threads started by me saying "Nerf this or nerf that wahhh!". This

Astax I deleted that post and posted anotehr already lol. I got rid of that. Yeah..to behonest Ive only played one person using this strategy so far and I was able to combat it with dumb luck I guess. I had a fairly balanced fleet of 20 or so ships against his like 25 LRM's and I was able to take out half of them (but suffered huge losses) and he retreated. In retrospect I think he was a rookie at doing it because if he had kept at it I think he could have overcome me with it.

I wrote a longer post and deleted it...lol. After reading I didnt totally agree with it. Anyway....I think in regards to the LRM spamming...maybe just slightly adjust some other ship type to be a bit more effective against them. Maybe like Bomber Squads have a 20% increase in damage or something. Perhaps this would combat the tactic a bit better overall. Even though I was one of the people in the other thread who mentioned the cap thing.....that was just an initial "t

Just a quick question... On multiplayer games I dont see a setting where you can set begining ship setup. Is it there and I missed it? The reason I ask is me and a friend started one game and we were surprised to have a mini fleet at start. On another game we tried later we started with just the 2 build ships. Is this scenario dependant or something?

Well this is probably something easy the devs could fix if they would like to. All they have to do is cap that no individual unit type can be more then 50% of your fleet. This would then force them to waste cash or whatever on scout ships if they still wanted to try this tactic. Maybe exclude the 2 starting frigate types and capital ships from this. Every RTS always has some "tank rush" strategy people will try. I havent played many online games so I was wondering if people had started

Yeah I agree with the others here. Ive already talked 2 friends into buying the game as well. Its really a great game. Me and a friend played our first online game tonight. We teamed up again 2 AI's and had a great time. Yeah it took us 3 hours to play the game but was fun the whole way. We had a few short lag spike interuptions but besides that it was gaming gold. Im really excited about the future of this game as well. Expansions, mods and all that. I really think you guys hit the per

Yes Monk thanks much for the help I appreciate it. With my post above Im not arguing the how and why of the problem either. I understand it...especially after talking to you. I just feel people have to be careful in how they kinda take the "Dont you people get it" stance. This is much more complicated to get working then most gamers will be able to handle. If nothing else I think Ironclad needs to figure out some way to put together a more effective help file or video or something. Im
How many times does it need to be said? This is not the developer's fault, it's an issue of home networking. Whenever you play ANY game where you host the game locally on your computer, be it Neverwinter Nights, or anything else, you will have to open the ports to your computer. People seem to think that because they can play WoW - that is, JOIN another game on somebody else's server - Blizzard are amazing coders and Ironclad is just being lazy or something. For the last time - the hostin

Well again I was able to solve the problem with Monks help....However..... Im a pretty tech-savy computer user and this was WAY beyond what 80% of your gamers are familier enough to deal with. I mean we had to figure out how to log into my modem (not the router mind you we had already done that) then had to figure out how to port forward on it to the router then forward to the computer. It was simple it what it was we were doing but was way beyond what your average computer us

Well with Monks help Im able to host now. The problem ended up being I guess a double NAT issue. I have a dsl modem that was causing the issue. We were able to figure out how to log into my modem...set it to forward the ports to my router...then forward from my router to my computer. Also had to "allow" wan to lan to be sent through the modem as well. Then everything started working. Pretty complicated stuff that Monk had to help me figure out as Ive logged into my ro

FNR....sent you a message with our vent info... To other reply...I have tried that. We both have. Neither one of us seem ot be able to host a game the other can join.

Ok tonight was the first night I actually am cursing at this game and Ironclad. So much so I really am extremely upset. Let me first state....Im a fairly knowledgable computer user. Been playing game for years. I know my way around in my router control panel and all that. Tonight me and a new friend (who I just talked into buying the game) spent 2 hours trying to get a game going with no luck at all. We followed the guides on the site including that PDF that one player typed

Gamespot doesnt have any reliable reviewers left after Jeff G. and Alex Navarro left. Hell even Ryan Davis just left. They have nobody left except that Van Ord guy who gives everythign a good review (read yes man).

Yeah the fix did help. I had a game after the change with the computer trying the same old tactic and I was able to defend it. However....I think its even easier to fix then your idea actually. I think the had the right idea in the change they made...I think they just needed to carry it a hair further to prevent griefing by players in multiplayer that want to make a fleet of 2o+ of them etc. Just increase the fleet cost on them a bit more then they already did. Make it where if you real

Well on the single player...I actually have been enjoying it. Yeah I wish there was a campaign type setup but the devs have said there will be one. They intend to do many content releases and expansions etc. On the UI...I actually like it. Sounds like you probably only played it for a day. I was the same way as I was just a bit overwhelmed to a degree with it some. But after like 2 or 3 days when you finally sorta have things in order the UI makes perfect sense. I think overall

Yeah Im enjoying it as well. You bring up a good point as well. I would have loved for them to make some mini "Winner" movies. Yeah do them in the same style as the intro movie but do like 3 (or even 6) little movies one for each race that plays after you win a game. Would just be a neat little addition. Heck I even have a cool suggestion that would be super easy for the devs.... Instead of the current "Victory" screen...have a slightly bigger window come up with music playing
