HEY TEKKOR>..THEY CANT EVEN
Tekkor
Good points so far for sure. I dont think much of anyone is against have team premade groups...they just want them to be matched against the same thing. Not against randoms. Would be interesting to perhaps hear another comment from Brad on it in one of his upcoming updates. Obviously they must have some plans or else they wouldnt have the "Clans" section on the Pantheon leaderboards page.
If you don't think your playing teams in pantheon games already, think again. Me and my friend just click Fight at the same time and 90% of the time end up in the same game on the same team. I'm sure we're not the only ones doing this. It's actually faster to get games going this way then sitting in a custom room waiting as well.
Yeah good point and Im sure people are doing that...but its not a for sure thing you will
Quoting Tekkor, reply 11 lol so those last 2 posts i made trying to clarify and extend the bridge there you just like "ehh whatever I like cola". lol I can keep arguing if you'd like. Its a hard concept to understand that internet people give up.
lol, I didnt look at it as arguing...its just discussion....but cool. [e digicons]|-)[/e]
I suppose there's no point in arguing this anymore. I guess it would be better just to wait for the automatch and beat everyone
lol so those last 2 posts i made trying to clarify and extend the bridge there you just like "ehh whatever I like cola". lol The main point was if you look at the Pantheon setup...its for rankings on Light vs. Dark....ranking individual players. Its a persistent setup. The
Actually Poly...to even further the point....Stardock is already setup for this in a way....look at how they have rankings pages setup... http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/ There is a Pantheon rankings....this would be matched same type teams in Pantheon...random vs. random...team vs. team etc. But it ranks people individually as it already does. This is only records for the current Pantheon. Then
One other thing I think we are just not talking about the same thing. Let me make one last attempt to show in some ways we are on the same page actually.... - The Pantheon is a persistent tournament ladder. It is lightside vs. darkside. Its not a clan vs. clan setup. It ranks by individual performance on random made teams. Keeps track of the ongoing light vs. dark results etc. - Later as they add the ability for actual Tournaments those should be
How many times do I need to say this to get the point across? You bought the wrong game if you wanted to go online and play with other people by yourself. Competitive strategy games are not and never will be about people just thrown together and told to go. I'm not sure how you can even support a ladder with random teams. There cannot be any support for it other than just that. The whole point of a ladder is the ladder season which theoretically
You bought the wrong game if you're looking for a single player type approach here. Again, this game is clearly aimed as a team game. It needs to stay that way.
I guess we can agree to disagree or for you to be talking about somethign completely different then I am lol. I have a couple buddies who will be playing this game as well. Im sure we will want to play some premade games with us together against other
To add Poly.....no Tournaments will be premade teams only. Thats fine. I dont expect them to hold a tournament for random teams. Your a bit off topic there. This issue of the Pantheon persistent tournament is a totally unrelated topic to special tournament events.
My problem with this argument is you're wanting to make a competitive game less competitive. You're allowing options that essentially will make games easier than others. What do you expect Stardock to do when they want to hold tournaments? Hold separate tournaments for all the separate ladders? Its not feasible. That's the problem here.
So by matching premade teams with random teams that makes it more competitive? Please explain.
im not going read through all the post but Parth needs a the ability for team joining, its very frustrating to play with complete noobs and just b/c u can make teams doesnt it mean it will be unfair, teams qwould only be matchse up with eachother, if you have ever played COH u know what im talking about...
Yep thats basically what the discussion has been to save you the reading lol. The fact is that
Quoting Polynomial, reply 19 Red Alert 3 is way more of a 1v1 game than Demigod is. Demigod is a team game. yep
Once again....nobody is talking about 1 vs. 1
This sounds very carebearish. You cannot cater to everyone. Having separate systems decreases the matchup frequency. Why does there need to be an automatch for people who play solo? There's custom games for that. This is not Starcraft or Command and Conquer where 1v1s reign supreme. This is a team game. There is no need convolute matters more by catering to every person's playstyle. Again, no one is complaining about this in Red Alert
It would be really silly to divide the community You mean kind of like how there's already 3 different ways to play MP? I think the community is already large enough to support an additional team vs team layer in the Pantheon and Skirmish modes. It wouldn't even need a separate ladder, just make sure Pantheon premades don't get set up with Pantheon randoms, everything else can stay the same

Also random teams isn't 'fair and balanced' ...sure everyone has a fair chance to get the good team, but that doesn't make the teams themselves balanced.
Agreed...but I think the greater concern some of us have is that the Pantheon will turn into this thing where you have a half dozen teams just ruling the matches stomping everyone using comms and perfect balance teams etc. So basically anyone not playing wit
you need to be able to join pantheon as a team.
Any more detail to your reasoning? I mean if they do some special tournament for teams to enter thats fine. But we are talking about the regualr Pantheon here. I dont think it will promote people playing to get hammered on the Pantheon by arranged teams. The Pantheon should stay as it sorta is now...it randomly teams people based on skill or whatever to try
Im just curious on what everyone elses opinion is on the comment Brad made in the video yesterday about adding a feature where even on a Pantheon game people could join as a team with thier friends to play? Me personally I dont like that idea at all. Yeah its fine for custom games or for Skirmish games even. But the Pantheon games should be a good playing field for everyone. Not a setup where 4 guys who are pro's can hammer 4 random matchmaking guys into the ground 5 games a day to in
Hmm a bit strange. I had the opposite experience. My son and I have played several Lan games. Im hooked up directly to the router (A linksys router) and my sons computer upstairs is wireless hooked up to it. The first time I just started a game...he saw it...been playing fine every since. Is there any way for you to get say the switch out of the equation for a test and hook yourself directly to the same router to see if that is somehow causing the issue?
Thanks for the update. One thing I didnt notice a comment on with your typed update.... My son and I have been holding off playing online much because of the Favor points reset bug (i.e. if we play multiplayer we lose our single player points and items) and then we hear people lose the online points etc as well. Just wondering if this was addressed in this patch or not?
wow, quite interesting. I had not noticed that as I dont play Regulus that much. Pretty cool actually though. [e digicons]:)[/e]
One possible issue I could think of is an issue related to your videocard perhaps overheating if this happens after the computer has been on a while and like you say playing a bit. However a while ago a friend of mine had a similar issue and he fixed it by basically re-seating his videocard. i.e. - Open your case, take the card out...clean it with compressed air if you have it get dust out of hte fan etc etc. Then put the card back in making sure its in secure and all. Yeah you
Very good review actually. Yeah its one of those reviews typical of G4 where the reviewer is trying to hard to sound cool....but thats par for the course. Good stuff though.
