Thx for the welcome. I wish my ATI drivers would be as sable as a Stardock early Beta. I hope Stardock will have lots of sucess with this game.

[quote who="Ephafn" reply="12" id="2140962"] well the problem with stopping the TBS of "the more you win, the more chances you have to win" is by doing something that would be... unfair. A good example would be to have luck be a factor. Or have mechanics that are designed to make the people in the lead be pulled back, or the people in back have a better chance... all these are 'unfair'. The main problem with the "win-to-win" situation in TBS is in the technological prog
Up to now no TBS like CIv really featured what happed in the real world. First of all communicatons and alarge empires. the bigger an empire got the harder it was to control simply because humans tend to follow there own ambitions. Rebellions whre constant in the old roman empire and other empires. LAst but not least lines of succesors family infights etc. most empires destroy themselves from within or corruption startws to set in. Usally an outside occurence is only the last strike to
Well, in reality I only buy their games right now though one day they will make MOM2
Sounds like your desktop and in game resolution don´t match. Suddenly you can´t "push" the buttons right? Switch your desktop resolution and it should work.
Looking at your file you should crank up the page file / virtual memory quite a bit...you have right now 1024MB the bare minimum + only 512 MB. Could be the reason
Aehmm wrong forum because paradox ist the European distributor
Pssst, look at the sticky : Dual core machines may need driver update Link
Hi I had yesterday the same bug. I was trying to run GalCiv2 in a window and changed afterwards desktop resolution to 1024 x 768 in game the resolution was set 1280x1024 . Intro started normal, buttons didn´t work. Changing my desktop resolution back to 1280x1024 fixed the bug. Afterwards I swichted on playing in "Full screen" then I don´t have any problems with crashes. Changing the desptop resolution may fix your problem.</font
Try to increase your virtuel memory
Change the word "week" to years /or turns or something. Its something which really ticks me off that I am able to conquer the galaxy in 10 years. Slow down population growth... Right now I am feelin g theat the people in the galaxy are really frisky...
I like the no tech trading option still I would like it more if there would be something liek : You buy a tech but you still have to research 50% of it to get it to work. The problem with the tech trading was mainly tech whoreing for me. Buy tech sell it to all the others, rinse repeat...
Hey Lyndy 62 there is a sticky in the forum regarding in game problems. With some tips what you can do and it is helpful to get your debug.er to figure out happens. Though the programmers at least have a clue what could be wrong.
Well I am not a programmer but minimum requirements are (from the box:) Windows 98/ME/2000/XP Pentium 3 800MHZ ;256 MB of Ram ; 32 MB directx 9.0c compatible videocard. Recommended is 512 MB ram; 1,8 MHZ + 128 MHz graphic card. Though it should run but perhaps you should give it uch virtuel memory, turn of some fancy graphic features and not insist playing on the biggest map. Turning of as many background programms as
Well I love SDC. 18 MB its worth for me that it tells me patch avaible, downloads it and installs it. Quite painless. But you can download patches as standalone you only need your serial number. You won´t be able to download betas that way and the small updates Stardock usally puts out "every" week. You will have to wait a little while longer until the file is compilde into a mayor update. The game is running without the patch many "updates" are really that improvements . At least it worked that
I strongly disagree that "must know "everything. I although love strategy games but I can´t stand if not everything is predictable. In contrast to you, already the game is much to predicatable to me: like morale=taxes etc. Reallife is neither 100% obvious spreadsheet. You need for your enjoyment that a game is 100% predictable, I HATE such games. Can you tell me how much better an american marine is then an italian soldier form the 2nd w
Why don´t you simply run the game in windowed mode?
Just a few questions regarding no tech trade option: Is it possible only to choose no tech trade for money etc. but it would bes tlill possible to give techs as a gift or extort them?
Raise the costs of rush "buying" where is the strategy in the different "payment plans" if the instant buy is though cheap?
I don´t agree that a certain level realism isn´t needed in videogames. Why bother at all with concept of spaceships ? Take cars as the vehicle to move between stars. Aliens: why bother ? Fish as pictures work as well. I really don´t know why Stardock did choose the label "week" for turns and the "population increase" in billions in a year... It s a good game but some decisions seem strange to me.
Like in real life: No money no production anymore
Well, I have / had the same problem. Bumping up my virtual memory to > 2Gig helped quite a lot (as Frogboy recommended in its sticky. There is sometimes a glitching sound... I should reallly lok for better video and sound drivers.
