The reason they are willing to patch the game so often is that they can be sure only their customers are receiving them via Impulse, and the 2gig limit is a computing issue that effects every 32 bit piece of software. Supreme Commander for example had to deal with it as well.
I'll second that.

Yes i would have to agree choke points are important an the AI will always stops to fight and will not by pass planets. O ne hint if you are sending in suicide defenders who's only point is to delay till another fleet gets back. You can set the gather point for your ship factories (Yellow place marker) any where even gravity well of other planets so once the ship(s) pop out they will fly directly there and if enemies are there they will attack. Just make sure t

Personally i hate really HATE unwanted ads in any form. Mail,Phone,Email,Fax or Web Popup. It is way too pervasive in so many forms that i figure i will do more to "vote" with my money instead of putting up with that junk for the sake of a game.

The couple games i bought that require steam to start ever time is the biggest pain in the behind. I can't ever see myself buying another game that uses steam i hate it with a passion. In fact i am off to uninstall steam right now. ps I can't stand logging into steam each time i want to play and even worse is the popups at the end trying to sell me more games. The popups at the end when you log off is what killed it for me. pss Uni

I have 2 games on steam and i hate it. So much so i don't play them anymore Civ5 and Fallout:New Vegas. I did hang in there long enough to beat Fallout though. I hate the way steam logs in evertime i want to play and i really really hate all the in you face ads with steam.

Are you using any of the expansions? Even if you have both of them i would personally play a couple games on normal sins before playing with all the expansions. Personally I always stay with 2 cap ship (best warship and colonizer) for a good amount of time and then usally starting adding more mid game.

2 years and 2 days with countless games later I still have never found space ponies to this day.

Today I used the diplomacy tree more than ever. While it was nice to play an us vs them type game having from the start worked on building an alliance with another Vasari while regarding the other non Vasari AI races as enemies or at least non allies. But having said that i hate giving up all that fleet capacity for the benefits. It to me seems to steep a cost. More diplomacy options including affecting the attitude towards a 3rd party. ie Bribe another race

I don't think we need more ships per race. Or go to extremes and make customizable ships in 2 or 3 sizes. Allow higher level ships maybe not with more abilities over all but an extra ability earner only by reaching level 12 like Hero of the Fleet (culture spread due to fame/infamy). How about a customizable defense ship? you know like mini star bases they can never leave the space they are made in with a limit of 2 or 3 or 10 whatever depending on Technology and Strength.

I have started playing again and the Pirates are the biggest problem not the other factions. I wish i knew how to turn thier STR down a bit and increase thier exp again so at least if you do fight them you can gain some much needed XP for you Capital Ships. Yes i know i can turn them off but i hate doing that because they can be a really good part of the game but as they are now they are a bit to strong and not worth killing for thier worthless exp.

I ran into the problem of pirates staying in systems that have mines in them even after all others things are gone. Basically brought my game to an end because they where in the middle of the map and one one could clean them out. ps i will put my 2 cents in for the pirates being to strong as they currently are.

I read about this in another post but it was dated a fews weeks maybe a month ago. I was playing 3 Normal AI one of each race and me as a Vasari. When i could finally offer Pirates missions i always sent Moderate or Stronger fleets. The only enemy left was the other Vasari and he had laided lots of mines. of the 4 planets i could send scouts to all had Pirates fleets haning around with Vasari mines. All 4 planets where dead and totally without struc

Vasari are my favorite to play and I only played them for many weeks straight before changing it up. Later game thier ability to warp from planet to planet no matter the distance is amazing and makes defending your planets much easier. Thier star bases are the best in game as they are the only ones that move perfect for defence or invading. Like others said a balanced fleet is really important. But don't kill yourself trying to research them all at once. Pick a

I think a weapon based on each race history would be cool. Tec big ground based beam weapon. Advent how about a Pychic wave making some "crew" go beserk and trash the ship till it self destructs? Vasari ground based phase missiles. <span style="font-siz
