Reply to Free upgrade from Start8? in Start Menu Products Stardock Forums

I have Start8 and ModernMix installed on Windows 8.1. I am wondering whether they be uninstalled before installing Microsoft's free upgrade to Windows 10. I would like to know Startdock's recommendation on that question.

I had a similar issue. I did some troubleshooting. I had to start with running Windows Updates for Windows 8.1. I then got an error getting some of the updates. After Googling that error and following remedies posted on micorsoft.com I had the icon back after about an hour of work. In any case, I don't think the issue is related to Start8 being installed.
