Not necessarily. The other sources includes lot of weird stuff like when you queued a building and ships to be built but the planet was lost due to bombing. It's a very weird category.

Use Kostura on enemy homeworld, jump in with fleet, use Evacuater egg to eat the planet, drop ton of mines and a starbase and the planet is yours forever:) Also put down stabalizers so you can always defend it

Ok. The checksum would have to be performed on the block of memory not containing the models etc, otherwise it would be a huge cpu intensive affair. Now if I were to invest the time into figuring out how to read just that part of the memory, that would be it for me as far as the game is concerned. Alternate way of doing this, would be to use the game engine to perform much of the work for you. How? Simple... You take a save in middle of the game, then you run checksum on the sav

On one hand Martyrdom should not be too easy to use, at the height of the game MP scene, it was used as a capital sniper. On the other hand, it could stand a buff, along with timed explosions. And a new ability to the Vasari scout could also be added to give it another role. I'm thinking something along the line of sacrifice the scout to heal a base or capship or structure. Yes I know I'm not original, and I'm merely ripping off an ability from Conq

You cant fix minidump errors because each one is caused by different thing. They can only fix causes one at a time. I'm not 100% sure why the hell this game is prone to so many desyncs (more than any RTS I EVER seen), but here it is. So unless they redo the entire engine from ground up, you will see many and often.

Win/loss ratio is a way to boost your ego--that's all it's about. It's a weak person's pride crutch in the game. It servers no other reason. I play a game where players have their lifetime win/loss ratios visible at game start and the "serious" players will quit the game instead of surrender so their ratio drops badly.

Forcing people to participate in your Elo system is retarded. If the game didn't give you auto-win when all human players left the game, I would run 100% loss record on purpose.

Other than micromanaging them, there is no good way. I wish there was, believe me. Sadly their abilities work funky if you turn off auto-attack.

It would be nice if there was a way to either set the scouts as auto attack or no. Say like ctrl+right click or some nonsense to place the rotating arrow over the scout icon in the factory would turn on bot auto join and auto attack behavior.

Smurfing is a right. Without it you are locked into every increasing spiral of expectations, to a point where you no longer enjoy playing the game. What if I want to take Dunnov first just for the hell of it?

There is a problem with that replay. It does not work 100% of the time. I will probably remove it for now. Update: Done, I deleted the one that's not working. Too bad cause it was a nice one

Can you guys come up with a way to say if you have all 3 of the games that make up trinity, but not trinity itself, to upgrade to it? Same for GalCiv 2... And do it in a way that I won't lose my special collector's edition content? Aside from making it so you dont have to migrate your old aps, it would make it so I only have to do one instal and not 3 every time I upgrade systems.

I thought I pop in to say that I do agree with a lot of what is said in the thread. I also agree with what Jon Shafer has said thus far. More often than not lack of such restrictions can be attributed to trying to cut corners. Once you place a restriction on a unit, you must code all kinds of stuff to go with these restrictions, including the dreaded AI.

Listen Phhead I don't know why you are raging about the resource thing. The old option had 4 settings: Low, Medium, High and RANDOM. So you could still have random option. IMO not only should it be brought back, but expended to do it by type (Ice, Volcanic, Terran, Neutrals.. etc) and another option for Low, Medium, High and Random militia. Honestly random militia pisses me off more so than random resources.
Vasari have great counter to that SUBVERTERS + OVERSEERS
The only counter to that by vasari would be Orky + Subverters, or Subverters + Mines... or 10 Kostura Canons... which counters pretty much everything lol. Volatile Nanites could use a buff thou. In which case it would be a viable solution.
