I have some questions too, just moving from DA to TA. In DA, I make money with anomalies, building to stock exchanges, building entertainment stuff and other things to keep the population growing, moving to federation, etc. Any big differences with TA? You start with less money too.

I would like autolaunch in DA. But I am not going to get it. It would nice to hear what the Stardock people are doing--I guess working on Elemental. Galciv seems like it is not receiving any attention. No one will answer me when I send email in. I guess the answer is "so what." I am looking forward to Elemental.

Someone in the other thread said that autolaunch is only in TA, not DA. I am still playing DA. Maybe that will make me switch to TA, though I still like DA, but not this problem.

This has been happening to me for months but only after a lot of planets and ships. It goes away once the AI's are almost defeated. Doesn't sound like a video error but maybe a memory error. I am running the latest Vista on a fairly new Dell with 3 gb. Note the game doesn't crash but simply does not show the ship icons. Stardock apparently doesn't want to talk to me since apparently only a few have this problem. Yes, there are others, Debug Message:

If so, I would like to ask a question? Have you ever seen the game get funky and start losing new ship icons at the beginning of the turn? That is, lose all of them. Even though they are on the planet ready to be launched (though it must be launched manually). This would happen after there are several hundred planets owned by the players.

Assuming you are using DA, I usually put five factories on a planet, a lab, and (if needed) a star port to build ships. I do a colony rush, but to keep my economy in balance, I focus on economic improvements and build survey ships to look for anomalies with money. I play on a huge galaxy with 2 opponents. Later I build stuff to keep people happy which helps population which helps with the money. If you are doing a military win, what ultimately makes you win is by h

This probably has been discussed before. In DA, in Vista and XPSp3, I eventually get crashes with Ctrl-N. Maybe it is a message to me that I want too much. It would nice if we had a decent search engine on this board.

The Colony button for unowned planets should show what type it: toxic, radioactive, etc. Without have to punch on it. A symbol would do. I base my research on the number of each planet type that is 10 or better. It also would be nice if one could hold off on a tech universe wide that one receives when one conquers a planet. Sometimes I get improvements that wreck the economy because of their cost. One can do it planet by planet. That can b

Late in the game, no new ship icons will show up even though there are new ships ready. Searching the ships in the colony list will find them. But launching them from here doesn't usually work. The launched ships go back to being unlaunched. Bizzare. Launcing them from the planet list under the colony button does work. Restarting the game fixes the problem for a 3-4 turns. I check every turn late in the game to make sure that new ships are comin

Maybe they were causing memory problems. My only problem is the misssing ship icons at the beginning of the turn. It may be more difficult to manage the AI with all those planets. When I look at the new DA and even more so the new TA universes it seems like we may have lost 30-50% of habitable planets even when you research the different kinds of planets. Frankly, while managing 200+ planets can be a chore, I still miss those.

As I asked elsewhere, under "Edit" all I see are randomize. Is there a way to specify the number of stars or planets or anything else. I am look at GC2MapEditor under TA directory for Tools.
