I hope to see it in action. The latest bug in Mount and Blade:Warband has got me not wanting to continue playing, so this game will have to fill in that time. Did you leave out the frame-rate limiter in the cloth map? I seem to be getting overheating GPU errors an awful lot when I play the game.

I am running Elemental Beta 1z4, and the game video crashed (causing a GPU recovery), then the game crashed about 30 seconds later. I am running Windows XP Home (32bit), with a Athlon X2 4200+ (S939), and a Radeon HD3850 256MB Video card, I am using the 10.3 drivers for my video card. This crash happened while trying to click on the actions tab (first tab) while a town was selected in the cloth map mode.
Why can't we have race distinctions without custom races? I'd also like to know that... I'm in favor of "...build out the Factions with more lore and artwork. Current customization of factions would remain." But, I don't understand why we would have to eliminate race distinctions for that? (To be honest, eliminating race distinctions seems like it'd do the opposite of building out the factions'...). I mean, af

This was my favorite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-X3GD0UnBCk Before that, no intro ever interested me. I loved the Mechwarrior 2 intro though, and it brought about the cinematic intros that all games have now (that you seem to despise, if I remember correctly).

I guess one of my characters stepped into the Kingdom of Gilden, and the king asked me to leave. I chose the option saying I would leave. A new option box comes up immediately once I choose the option, with the same request. No matter how many times I click it, it continues to pop up. I tried war, and that does the same thing. Lets talk about this will bring up a diplomacy screen, but once that is closed, the option box pops up again. I have to close the ga

I prefer city building similar to GC2 or X-Com or Alpha Centari. Not a big fan of the Civ style city building, although it is simplistic and makes it easier to spam cities. EDIT: I like the idea to be able to continually grow your cities. So that you can have a 20x20 square city at some point say 1000 turns into the game. Truly massive, although it shouldn't be done in a vacuum. If one city is growing that means that others are not, since there a
I would say, you select a certain amount of soldiers of one type and click "create unit" ... they move in the same direction, are basically a rectangle, triangle, or mob of people, you can't separate them (well, you can, just not during the battle), and so there is less flexibility, but strength in numbers, rank + file. The more organic and fluid you want your Front lines to be, you will have more units of smaller soldier count, and the l
Speaking of fast-moving, reducing everybody's movement speed by a factor of 6 was a VERY annoying change, not only becuause it's slow but because now those wonderful terrein effects on movement speed are completely moot.
I have to aggree with you here. If movement is stuck at 1, you can never catch any of the people you are chasing, even if they are only 2 squares away from you.

I have a bunch of spiders in my most recent game near my home cities. They started killing my caravans, so I built up soldiers in each city. The spiders just avoided the cities and continued to kill my caravans, so I took my soldiers and chased the spiders. The problem is the spiders are just as fast as my soldiers and so they just run away and still can attack my caravans as my defense can't get to them. This is frustrating, but not necces

I honestly don't like the resource system that you describe. It is abstract, and not logical at all. How can you start building something that you don't have the components for, just because you found the resource? I don't like game mechanics that don't follow logic, just because they make the game easier to play, because they always break the illusion that you are actually doing the actions, and not just trying to play some games based on arbitrary ru

I can't imagine any turned based game working with thousands of players. If it were realtime, I don't see why not. Eve is very close to a 4x game in realtime, and it does very well. Especailly lately since all the edges have been essentially smoothed out. Far and away the best MMO experience I have ever had, but then I hated WoW, and hadn't tried anything else since that was supposed to be the best - and I thought it was horrible.

Option C looks like the best option to me as well. Option A is also doable, although may become tedious. Option B just doesn't make sense, and would ruin the immersion as the logical connection is broken in the game. EDIT: I have never been able to figure out how to actually gain control over any resources I have found in the game. Is this implemented yet?

I can't agree with you on Risk. With the cards, you can often come back and win the game from a bad position, but turning in a set of cards and gaining a slew of armies. Also, by killing off another player, you gain his/her cards, and can often turn in another set of cards for even more armies.

Did I sleep through a few months and today is April 1st? That is a nice Oscilliscope though (well old at least). I showed up here to see if I could D/L the beta since I got an e-mail saying I was charged for the game. I can't seem to figure out how though. EDIT: I figured it out. I didn't have the "show pre-release versions" option checked. I am D/Ling the game now.
