Thanks for the help, but it didn't work - it locked up again on turn #25.

Well, I just installed the latest Beta patch and it locked up again at turn #11. Can't do anything, not even advance the turn. Prior to the lockup I was trying to move a new colonizer that I just built.
I've just submitted a lockup report @ turn #13 where it's a total lockup. This happened while I was moving a ship. I couldn't even save the game.
The game locked up @ turn #13. It doesn't matter what I click to select - nothing happens - even trying to get to the main menu to do a save and reload. This is the earliest lockup I've had with the Betas. I've seen other people complain about the games locking in previous Beta's. C'mon Stardock, figure out what's causing the lockups so people can play long enough to give you feed back.
There must have been a fault with the download from Steam. The latest update fixed everything - I can now play the game.
OK - Sorry for being stupid. The game is working on my W7 machine, but because of the onboard graphics, there is a lag between the mouse and the graphics rendering. On this machine, everything is working, including the tutorial. I do however have a couple of questions:- 1) Are there video options for various monitor sizes? 2) Are there any minimum requirement specs? I'm asking because the game still does not play on my Vista 64-bit machine.
I've found the games rules, but what are the interface controls? Should they show on the screen? If so, they are not. The tutorial is running - the time is advancing, but I'm not able to do anything - once again, there aren't any controls visible. I have 2 machines - 1st is 64-bit Vista with 6GB RAM, 1GB GT450. 2nd is 64-bit-W7 with 8GB RAM and Intel on-board graphics which is using 1.5GB of RAM.
OK - maybe I'm just plain stupid, but I can't figure out how the hell to play this game. The game starts and I can click on the map to scan areas, but I have no idea what to do next. Is there any kind of help/manual that lists the controls? Does anyone have any kind of basic play guide? I've tried the tutorial, but it doesn't appear to be functioning yet.

I got the Steam activation key and activated the product. It immediately began to download and appeared to complete at 100%. However when I try to run the game I'm getting Executable not Found. Is this really a Steam issue, or is something missing from the download?
Stardock - please confirm the minimum system requirements to run GCIII. I'm asking because there seems to be some disagreement among forum members and Frogboy.
I believe that Frogboy is Brad Wardell - so he should know. I would like to have qualification from Frogboy himself on this subject. Frogboy's own post on Alpha release specifies 64-bit Vista, W7 or W8. I have a machine running W7, but don't want to invest in a video card to replace on-board graphics if I don't have to. Similiarly, I could upgrade the vista box to W8, but don't want to if I don't have to. FROGBOY - PLEASE resolv
I haven't had any flags from windows update about new drivers from Nvidia. As for Vista - yes it is supported as per Frogboy's post.
@satoru Here you go. Processor Information: Vendor: GenuineIntel CPU Family: 0x6 CPU Model: 0x17 CPU Stepping: 0x6 CPU Type: 0x0 Speed: 3000 Mhz 2 logical processors 2 physical processors HyperThreading
It is supposed to run on Vista 64-bit - Frogboy himself said so in his reminder post.
Steam downloaded the game, and I also did a verification, but the game does not start. Looking at the shortcut, it's pointing to a steam location, but nothing is happening. I can't register an issue with steam because they don't have this game in the games list to select from. I'm running Vista 64-bit, and my video card does use dx10.
I only played one of the previous Star Control games, but I can't remember which one it was. However, I'm very much looking forward to this one.
Played both Galciv #1 & #2, and greatly enjoyed them both. I'm really looking forward to GCIII.
Yes, i've had this happen to me a couple of times, but only with units. If I found the unit on the map and clicked on it, it returned to the list.
So far I haven't had any corrupted saves. I have only played about 40 hours total, but no corruptions thus far.
Has anyone else had this problem.... When selecting "Save Game" from the menu, the Save Game panel does not always jump to the front, it sometimes stays hidden, or does not activate at all - not sure which

Don't know if this has always been an issue, or since .75, but this last weekend I had an army disappear from the list down the left side of the screen. When I found the unit on the map and clicked on it, it reappeared in the list.
I have seen the same situation. However, I have found that you can realign the view by pressing the mouse wheel and dragging the view perspective.
Thank's - I must have accidentally turned it off when i was in the menu. I have a very sensetive mouse and it sometimes double clicks when it shouldn't.
