Givenn the fact that this is the same team who developped Galactic Civilizations 2 you can be sure that the AI will be up to your expectations and that you will really have hard time beating it. Now in GC2 the AI didn't cheat but it was able to wipe out the floor with you on hard level.

Sorry mate I'm only repeating what Ironclad told us about Gamma. They said that they removed phase lines but they didn't say in what manner. As far as wormholes are concerned I was refering to the final version as well. So who knows wait and see. It will be in our hands in a week.
In the final version they removed ship lanes so what you have found it could be remanents of some old code.
Ok ppl lets replace it in the Newtonian context. In space there is no drag force (matter of fact there is and it is called universel gravitation but in case of sublight speed there is no impact). So let's assume that you want to move your ship forward. All you have to do is to give it a little impulsion and the ship will start to move in the opposit direction of the impulsion. Singleplayer for me too. I don't have time to llok around for a game and the AI doesn't cheat unless said so.
BTW did music change in finale version. I put my hands on Beta 3 and music sometimes didn't fit well in the action context. On some tracks I have feeling that I'm watching a TV Show for 3-5 years old kids. P.S. I've preodred the game but unfortunately too late to enter into beta.
