@jjcamilli As @basj points out, if you're existing Object Desktop Classic customer - even if your Object Desktop Classic is currently expired - the subscription model may not affect you as much as you think it might. If you're an existing Object Desktop Classic customer, and you opt for an "upgrade" which moves you to the subscription model, you can cancel that subscription before the yearly renewal and still use the

If my Object Desktop subscription should lapse, will the products included in it continue to function?
The problem here is that you get a shortcut to Chrome with some cryptic parameters and not a shortcut to the URL. That means you can't share the link with others, and you can't copy the link to your other computers, etc. Also, an issue if you have to upgrade your computer - i.e., a new laptop or complete OS refresh. You will have to regenerate those links from scratch again.
Hence why the solution posted is labeled "a w
There is a small workaround in Chrome to achieve your end goal. Three dots in upper right > More tools > Create Shortcut... You'll be presented with an option to rename the shortcut from the page default, and an option for "Open as window" which defaults to off. This will create a shortcut on the desktop, with the favicon used as the shortcut icon. With "Open as window" set to off, this shortcut will open as a tab - either in a current browser windo

@sdRohan As always, thank you for reply and follow-up. I think the updates to that document and the Stardock Software Subscriptions document have been immensely helpful. But, yes. I think there is a percentage of current Classic Subscription users - and it may even be a large percentage - who may want things defined just a bit more to cover the example I cited or similar situation

@DrJBHL While we appreciate the reply, that is literally the same link (provided originally by @sdRohan ) that I posted in this thread nearly two weeks ago:
https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1496285185/What+is+an+Object+Desktop+Subscription</a
I think @Narusegawa Naru raises a valid question. Perhaps an example might better serve to illustrate: Suppose one is currently on a Classic Subscription using the "old" billing model that does not have the new auto-renewal requirement. It's renewal date is sometime in September 2023. Question #1: For whatever reason, the Classic Subscription is not renewed before it lapses. In December 2023, one chooses to renew the now lapsed
You're most welcome.
@Neil Banfield and @BradSams Thank you both for your updates to this thread. Some of us were still quite confused on the changes that began June 1 prior to both of you posting here. Also, huge shoutout to @sdRohan whose efforts to update the documentation recently and further explain the changes are sincerely appreciated. For anyone still confused, I highly recommend reading BradSams's posts in this thread,

Greetings. I have gone through all the obvious settings and options, and I confess I am unable to find an option/setting to get an e-mail when receiving a new Private Message or a reply to a Private Message? It could just be that I am not able to locate this option/setting. That is certainly one possibility. If someone could shed some light on how to enable this option, I would greatly appreciate it.
