Please do make additional time for a Baldur's Gate type of game. That would be excellent! Anyone with $8 million to spare? :D
To learn the game I launched a few medium size maps with one AI easy in my team and another in the ennemy team (2vs1), I locked teams and deactivated pirates. That way, I lived long enough to learn the game and studied the AI behaviour on my ally at the same time. After a few games I noticed I was better than the AI and ready to go on my own
It's not the first time this kind of post shows up. The game should offer an option, similar as the one mentioned, for novice players.
What's with the 0.1 less in that score? :( It's another good review, nevertheless :CONGRAT:
Good review. Good score. Not a surprise anyway. :) I'll be looking forward for the single-player campaign in the expansion, which has everything to be awesome. :CONGRAT:
What's even better, beyond the excellent reviews this game is having, is the incredible potential to rise to new heights! :)
:CONGRAT: :HOT: This is one hot game they made.
It was interesting until the WTF part. That's a really clever way to expose ideas...
I've been asking for something like this since the game was released. So, YES a thousand times over. /signed
Don't want to watch the video? No problem, press the escape key or click to continue...
Yup, with would be nice to have a better sense of accomplishment by the end of a game.
any store wont give you refund (If it open), I guess Stardock can only give you refund.
See reply #4
The game is cheaper to get at best buy it seems
It is cheaper because it's the standard edition. The version you buy via direct download is the Collector's Edition. It gets you extras, like the music CD in MP3, some posters in PDF format and extra in-game features. And I can only imagine the answer from Best Buy if you want your money back because your PC can't run the game...
If you buy direct digital download that's not an issue. If it doesn't run on your system you get a full refund as long as you at least contact support to try to resolve. devs is this true ????
Well, even if Frogboy wouldn't be the main man at Stardock, you would notice the logo at the right of the name. That's a Stardock representative. You can trust whatever they say.
That was the reason why I bought the first GalCiv. Nowadays is still that, but also because a game like sins is actually good and it's my kind of game. I have to admit that I now wouldn't buy a game just by a matter of business model. It also has to suit my needs (i.e. my place of work is in China which is VERY far away from a gaming retailer, and the direct download feature instantly put a smile on my face). Their hassle-free stance from a costumer's perspective is certainly
Misunderstandings aside (which are now cleared) this thread should be closed. The question has been answered since reply #2. There's no more need to a thread with quite an unfortunate title.
Just to show how "reliable" they are...
gay... merry: full of light-heartedness and merriment (dated) carefree: having or showing a carefree spirit (dated) debauched: leading a debauched or dissolute life (dated) [13th century. Yup, pirates are indeed "gay"... :)
Campaign? Planned for an expansion.
Zoomba, I thought you already mentioned in a previous thread that a campaign was planned for the next patch... :) :NOTSURE: (:( Hold the ban button! Just kidding! Here's to wishful thinking... :D Thank you very much for the input! :CONGRAT: (please don't ban me :SNIFF!: )
Coming up next on a vastly stimulating, thought-provoking interview: Some very interesting talk on board games, criminality, space ponies and boredom! The Fraser brothers gain new converts and the greatest revelation of them all... Multianna is in fact a 'him'. :CONGRAT:
There's no campaign yet. Now that the game is a proven success, they'll have plenty of time to introduce more goodies. That hopefully will include expanding the story besides the initial cinematic. Here's to hopefulness on sooner rather than later...
You guys might want to skip through all the initial banter and start listening from 44:48min. It's when they actually start talking about Sins. @44min 48sec - Introduction on Sins @45min 30sec - The actual interview :)
I bought the first Galactic Civilizations five years ago. To this day I'm still able to download it from Stardock Central. I personally prefer to avoid the download time. That's why I'm quick to use the "Download and Archive" option and place the SDC file in a different physical hard disk (just select the game, right-click and go to "Archive Application" and then "Download and Archive").
I'd prefer a more classic way: no more wiped out planets more like the new civ must deal with inhabitants of the former faction. It implies improvements to rise the allegiance and prevent unrest....
Ok. How about an extra planet upgrade slot for "Alien relations"? For those planets conquered by invasion or subversion.
