ha! my new best friends at work are both 18 and 21. SO much flies overhead. And don't get me started about young'uns at the gym. I feel like a cougar if I even so much as glance at any one slightly younger than me. Led Zeppelin rocks, by the way. There were times when their second album was the only music I ever wanted to hear.

I haven't been writing much at all these days. Call it writer's block, or just a plain lack of interest, but nothing I've put down seems to make me want to hit the Submit Article button in the last few months. It's not like there haven't been some major life changes, either. But, perhaps that's it; maybe too much has gone on to even know where to begin to st

Sometimes I think too much when I'm at the gym. I'm not going anywhere either, but I'm surprised at how much can change in a mere hour a day. I haven't solved any of life's bigger problems during those moments where I'm just looking aimlessly around at the tvs mounted up high, or the college boys pumping iron, but sometimes this deep thinking during a ten minute jaunt on the eliptical cycle really helps me out. I can't say how, but my head feels clear

not bad for a broad in her 50's (or 60's, I don't know... I think it's very freakish. The average person in their 50s and 60s don't look a thing like this, and you know what? They shouldn't! What a crazy world to be in, where this is what some people strive for.

a good friend of mine says this often enough: "one day at a time." I have anger issues as well, but work mighty hard at trying to keep it all in. You'd never know it to see me, or to speak with me, but there are days where I wake up furious, and go to sleep seething. I don't know what the answers are, and any so-called solution that I've sought out just doesn't seem to work for me. My method of choice these days is simply putting one foo

I am going out tonight (Yes, on a Monday night, oooh.) to see a friend play a small venue in Peterborough as a preview to a larger one at the Rogers Centre (Skydome) in Toronto. This evening's set is only 45 minutes long, but it gives my best friend a chance to spread her wings a little and climb the stage as Spread Eagle. Coincidentally, there are o

Thanks, maso. I endorse the gym, only because I am actually seeing results. I still hate it, but it's a good kind of hate, if you know what i mean!

It's just an average day up here, but I appreciate the sentiment. Nicky, Serenity, InBloom, and UDigIt (who've stuck with my boring blog through the years), You're hardly boring!

I gave myself one full year of trying this out, and if, by the time September 17, 2008 rolls around and I don't like what I've been able to accomplish, then I'm just going to suck back the Twinkies, eat Big Macs, and sit on my ass in front of the television watching daytime soaps. Honestly, I don't know if it will happen. It's that love/hate thing. I get some perverse pleasure out of having my feet hurt, my shoulders ache, and my legs all wobbly. B

At the gym, all the fitness equipment is stored in the middle of the room, with a walking track encircling it all. At the end of the room and beyond the track near the great panes of glass is the weight area. Here, men and women flex and lift, grunt and groan. I never use the weights. I feel kind of awkward asking people how to use the Nautilus equipment, and have

Most likely they do...they seem to give it much more thought than we do. I've given it a thought, from time to time, but still have no anwers, no clue.

I remember reading The Guiness Book of World Records as a child only to have my brain scalded by images never even imagined before. The World's Tallest Man, The World's Fattest Woman, The World's Smallest Human... yes, that was interesting, but it was the other freakshow stuff that startled me and gave me bad dreams at night. I'm not talking about deformities

I've got some big hair music, by bands like Platinum Blonde, Journey, Poison, Ratt, and Skid Row, but I'm not really embarrassed. The only embarrassing thing is when you can tell what songs I'm listening to. For instance, when "Stayin' Alive"... comes on, I catch myself strutting, instead of walking like a normal human being.

Every once in awhile, when I have friends over, they take to looking over my bookcases. I've got plenty of reading material, and is fairly organized, which is surprising because everything else in my life is so random and scattered. I don't know why, but of the thousands of books that I own, the book entitled 1000 Names For Baby is the one most remarked upon.

And they kind of serve a dual purpose here too -to remind that ya just gotta laugh sometimes. laughter is what gets us through it all...

I don't know why I feel so blah these days, though it probably has something to do with the neverending grey skies and damp, moldy chill in the air. The rage though, that's nothing new. It's freezing out, as well, and since I'm never prepared for anything, I've simply been layering with sweaters as opposed to hauling out the winter jackets. <TD clas
