well this is mainly for Kryo - it isn't fun to micro IMO, so I agree that if it can't be done very automatically it shouldn't be done... however CFW did it pretty easily, it wasn't perfect, you could either A, have auto fleets working (with the problems our trade ships encounter now lol) or B. have a supply ship travel with the fleet... frankly, I could see that becoming the additional role of several battlecruisers, or the repair frigate or the light carrier... frankly the light carrier would b

Thats true, but not really a valid argument against their points, for fairness sake we have to assume them to be competent, rather than assuming otherwise. Also you have a flaw... if the AI goes straight for the cannons, (which they do) then place the cannons farther back, this will require the pirates to move fruther in before engaging, and thus give the bombers a longer period of time to operate and attack before the enemy engages your cannons... thus they will be weaker when they get there, a

Well the main reason for capital ships in my opinion as pirates is to give flavor, give them names... like 'oh no the Mad Hatter is here' or whatever... so a compromise... Capital ships with one ability and half health. the game needs personality, not neccessarily complexity, therefore I don't think it has much to do with 4X vs RTS... You know what the problem with most 4X games is? They are just Turn Based versions of RTS... with some dress up. they very rarely focus on things

Ron Lugge raises a good point about the planets, so shelf it, its not that big a deal anyways for them... but i'm adamant about the ships... it really is ridiculous right now, as to the fuel, well I'm not saying the ships should stop moving, as then they'd be hopeless, just that their firing rate diminish or disappear. your problem is that balanced fleets aren't all that great, and that your ships don't automatically focus fire unto one single target and move on, they spread it... also Tech could be an issue?

So I've played about 10 or so games now, and well I've said before that this game is Extremely similar to Conquest Frontier Wars in its RTS application, and thats true, but there is something different, that well, shouldn't be lol In CFW every ship had a bar of 'supply' which was used up whenever using special abilities and firing weapons... when your supply ran out your ship no longer fired weapons and moved a tad slower, and couldn't cast special abilities... what this meant was that

OH yeah one last thing! How about an options that sets the output of asteroids to Infinity. This would give us the option for truly meat grinder games. Also Tiny traffic ships like those on the planet should travel between the planet and any and all trade posts at all times. Thus sealing the connection and life line etc.

Hi everybody, I wanted to post my thoughts on the game 1.
