Excuse the post above... the quote function was mistaken for reply -_-

I'm unashamedly a forum noob.

And when's the last time you've heard of EA game holding back a game to be polished up?

O.o...

Well, EA recently came under new management. About the same time they acquired Bioware. It may be a sign EA has a new-found dedication to quality.

But... Its EA after all. More likely they are just trying to overhaul their reputation and prove that they are at least capable of releasing a good, polished (and stable) game.

Aye, I sincerely hope so!

Though I will have to unashamedly brown nose and say the good people at Stardock definitely hold the lead in this regard. EA have some catching up to do, more than likely...

it is truly an epic game... but 3 years of a dealy can and will kill sales...

lol look at ET:QW there was a huge hype then delay then a horibble crappy beta and the final outcome was a dead game stilborn since the word go.

if sopre will not come in 2008 it will suffer greatly in sales..

even though i think it will be a great game.

i wonder if this will hurt sins sales...

Apples and Oranges. There's little to suggest it'll have an impact on any sales for Sins, or any game for that matter, given how little it's been hyped recently, and how long ago the marketing machine started.

As for the release date, seeing is believing.

Seeing how I can pre-order Duke Nukem Forever speaks leaps and bounds about Amazons credibility in terms of a solid release date.
Hail to the king baby

That article is mearly assumption.

I believe spore will be out this spring.
I do to.

knowing EA this game is being rushed to be put out, like all EA games Spore isn't going to be given enough time to work out kinks or add cool features or lower system requirements

also, what the hell is up with the cartoony graphics?? looks like this game is focused on selling to eight year olds.  :(
Reply #87 Top
nothing wrong with cartoony if done right, ala TeamFortress 2 <3

You couldn't be more wrong Kyle.

The game already has dozens of hand on reviews, and in almost of every single one the first paragraph has the phrase "spore is finished" in it.

The game has been polished on Will's own request and want. He's been doing Sim games for a long time now, and I am quite certain he wants the first game in a new series to be pretty damn good.

I can't wait. See... I would pre-order this if Stardock has it on their online purchasing website.
edit: ignore me, got my threads mixed up thought we were talking about sins here.
Oh... recent news... Spore = delayed and EA = $33m loss. Might be a while, but I am still laughing about that "quality" joke.
I'm sorry, but I can't stop laughing, you all think it will actually come out in our lifetimes!

Bubb9,

Please read the beginning of this link where they say Spore was originally going to be called "Sim Everything." It would seem the award for ignorance will go to you instead.

...? And this disproves my point HOW?
From what I gathered you don't really have a point. I'm just providing a link and information that shows why I thought Spore would be something similar in design to SimCity. Try being less childish or less rude.

I already did and Kan that article proves my point.

Since when does an Amazon.com preorder date (re: they want you to buy it through them) = OFFICIAL release date?
The point that Spore could potentially be more building/creating oriented than combat oriented. I agree.

I wasn't aware it did.

Oh and Kan you can argue fine points all you like but it will not change the fact that I was right you accuse me of being childish? Take a look at your self your not worth the effort.

This is funny.

I'm not even sure what we are arguing about, I merely asked a question way up there in regards to Spore and you felt the need to be rude to me. I'm unsure why. Explain to us what exactly you are "right" about please?
