Ok so I am just throwing this idea out there because I am a Halo fanatic and I think that this game could easily incorporate the Halo universe into it. I am not a very good designer but I can provide support and more ideas. There are already two races that could easily be changed into the Humans and the Covenant( TEC and Advent). All we would have to do would be to change ships some and add  gauss guns to most TEC Cap ships. I know this might take a long time but if it means that we will finally have a Halo space combat game then it will be well worth it.

If there easily detroyable, but take long to build and cost huge amounts of resources.

Then i guess the ships are going to have to be dirt cheap in order to compensate for high costs in defense.

This is also taking in to consideration if canadaman has created or is deciding to create a covenant defense platform!

Maybe it could be called a SPC - Super Plasma Canon lol

Id like to know what you guys think about this and how to get around it to give canadaman some help with the nitty gritty.

I believe that because of the nature of their homeworld (high charity) the covenant wouldnt have any defence platforms. The closest known object to such was the docking station the unyielding herophant (spelling) which served as not just a docking/repair/construction platform but a supply and perhaps mobile fortress. In addition the covenant wouldnt need one really.

Their ships are faster, more accurate, have shields and far better weaponry. A stationing of 12 cruisers would be more then enough to hold off most forces.

As for the MAC stations. id give them high armor and moderate HP. something like 40 armor (200% hp) and enough hp to survive 1.5 blasts from a plasma torpedo. If you give plasma torpedoes a burn ability similar to incendiary shells and approx 1/5th the damage of the actual plasma torpedo hit this should replicate a real attack rather well.

Example. MAC station has 8500 hp 40 armor.
plasma torpedo does 8000 damage with 1000 burn for 4 seconds (4000 extra damage)it would take 3 torpedo hits to kill a mac station. To put perspective on human vessles a cruiser would have much more HP then a MAC station but less armor.

The reason the stations are so expencive however is because of the damage they deal and the range they deal it. by the time a covenant ship is within firing range to hit the station, the station could have fired off 3-5 rounds which means 3-5 kills. This quickly turns into a deadly phalanx if there are enough stations around a planet.

Please note a few things while making this.
1. shield mitigation should only go up to 5%, 10% maybe for extreamly large ships like a super assult carrier. If at all in the mod.
2. Covenant ships should have an ability similar to the kodiak cruiser where they can do a very quick in system boost.
3. the best way to simulate the quick recharge of covenant shields would be an ability that is on autouse that recharges X amount of shields but has a cooldown of 10-20 seconds. The amount could be one solid amount or change depending on the ship to be say 1/3rd the over all shields of the ship.

While this mod is being made it would be wonderful if someone could find the real life star map galaxy and see if it fits well to this mod type then add to it. For a full epic halo feel it must have over 300 habitable worlds. Close to 500 or 750 would make it just right. This way we might just have a map capable of recreating the war itself.

Maico, if the 500-750 planet map is not lagtastic, I will make it. The Covenant ship boost is kinda unrealistic and unfair considering the Covenant ships were already faster and they could go faster just the Covenant never pushed their ships to full ponential.

For neutralizing SMAC cannons, the Covanant should have long range fighters and bombers that have scaled down slipspace drives or what every you want to call them. that would force UNSC players to buy fighters and flak frigates just so they don't spend all their cash on an unbeatable fortress world.

so how they destroyed SMACs in the novels? im saying by the time you have an unbeatable number of SMACs around a planet the Covanant has say 500 ships, now stop that!
im saying we should add a research to the SMAC like on 6 or 7 lvl, make them costly
this way it would be like in the novels, a few defended planets but a large Cov fleet would break trough no matter

Its entirely realistic, it makes up for the fact you cant actually have an "inner system" jump. If possible this skill should also drain their AM and shields which would make them dead in space for a few seconds just like in the books.

Something we have to decide, is what will it be. by that, I mean Tradeship, Refineryship, or Construction ship.

Ive had another thought about the pirates. Instead of our regular pirates in the books, have the Flood instead of pirates. that way people who want to see the flood in this mod (Like me) will get to. We can still have UNSC ships there. If we really want to, we can give them Covie ships.

umm i tried to use that "true ccs" cap just to test it out but the model is highly unstable (try to buff it up more, don't worry it works), i can't get the assault carrier to work at ALL, and i still need the seraph.

The covenant was able to kill the SMACS from a distance from the capital ships that had a long range plasma beam.

Making pirates as flood should be easy enough. Just add some pores and tentacles along the hull of the ships you want the flood to have and presto lol. (I hope its as easy as that).

Maybe we can 'imagine' that the credits that are on the black market or to 'purchase' willing subjects to feed the opinion of the collective to do your biding. lol jks

But seriously thanks for bringing that up Thomas Fife, i completly overlooked that avenue/concept of thinking. Guess its back to basic pirates.

I like the flood idea, its just that we have to find a way to manipulate thm. If we can't, we should go back to the idea of rebels and heritics.
