Haha, yeah it worked against me.  But then, it was like the second time I'd played the mod.  Now I know, research is the deciding factor so get it done ASAP :D

 

And yeah, I wanna see those screens!  Shame we never got that galaxy spinning off to explode :p

hey guys is there anyway of removing the team colours from the ships? my federation fleet looks pretty wierd in dark green awesome mod though guys !

I agree... but light green looks AWESOME on a Klingon ship...lol.  Just go to effects, there should be a button to turn the team colors on and off.

Hey, one thing I noticed... not so much bugs as just my opinion, is the Beam Turrets are insanely tough to take out.  I had just finished taking out a planet, and left an Amabassador to mop up and colonize then colonize it.  FYI, the Ambassador had all the upgrades for 2 weapons labs.  There were only 2 beam turrets next to a refinary left, and I thought no problem... but after maybe 6 or so passes the Ambassador's shields are down, next pass after that it's gone.  And the 2 turrets are barely scratched. 

Now I know the turrets are supposed to be tough, but wow!

When you folks play online do you usually play locked teams or do it up RISK style and ally with each other then stab one another in the back lol :P

So far the biggest bugs are:

1) Starbases are imbalanced. We are working on fixing this. IMBA is not a good thing :p

2) Team Color bug Aka specular maps are in wrong texture bug still exist. I posted a way to fix this issue yourselves a few pages back. It is really easy to do. You will need photoshop. For those that cant fix it themselves we will get it done, just give it some time. In the mean time just turn Team Colors off in your options.

Seems the bad crc thing got handled.

Oh as for the game showing victory early... The AI surrenders if it knows it is impossible to defeat you. This saves you from the grind of having to kill every unit, and taking over every planet. This is a feature. Not a bug.

The beam turrets power depends greatly on the level of research the ai or opponet has completed .  The more research the harder it is to kill. Also  what turret are you refering too ?  Feds I assume

Ahhh good idea... however if you choose to grind it out would the AI still try to fight you? I haven't bothered trying that yet as I figured they wouldn't but now I am curious :)

Yes the AI will still fight you if you jump into thier worlds, but it will not expand, or attack you outside thier own systems.

They were Fed turrets... I was playing the AI, so I'm not sure how upgraded they were, but they were somewhere about 3000 pts and 2000 pt shields, more or less...  I have to start making notes...lol.

As for the AI quitting early... mine went right up to the last planet before it gave in... but that was cool with me...lol

hello all, say i m having some trouble getting this mod started..im new to this mod but have been reading the posts about the mod since it started as i am a avid star trek fan.. i would like to play the mod but im unsure as what to do next i dl the mod to the entrenchement folder but its not showing up in the mod icon...im kinda of new to this whole modding thing but would love to play it if thats ok.. i just need step by step instructions on where to dl it..how to activate it and get it up and running..if theres a link to help me get this going i would apprecaite it  or any help anyone can give me..thnk again...

I'm also working tirelessly (literally) trying to work out the recombination sequence for starship separation.  I've got a Prometheus model and all three of it's respective hulls installed into the mod  and am using it as a test bed for my sepration ability (appropriate, right?).  Anyway, I've got the actually separation worked out flawlessly, and I'm LOVING the results.  Watching the separate parts of the Prometheus fly around with the fighter mechanics is awesome!  I've had a member of the Sins forum volunteer their time and knowledge on this particular project, and they've been a huge asset.  They have used their prodigious talents to create a series of abilities and buffs that will recombine the seprate elements back into the original ship, but I'm having a lot of difficulty understanding how everything relates together at the moment.  Needless to say, once I've figured it out I'll let everyone know, as that will mean not only that my Prometheus is complete but also that I can create a separable Galaxy class ship as well.

Up above in the main post there is a download link for 0.3e.1, use that. After that just extract to your Entrenchment 1.03 mod file. Then enable the mod in sins by starting Entrenchment then going to options>mods> Select SoA2 then enable then apply changes.

For specific info on where to find the mod folder use the troubleshooting webpage listed in the main post.

Darn, I was going to make a post to say I had a corrupt file warning on one of the files

But I couldn't remember my login

I believe it was the Curry class file, but I can't remember the specific file name.

Ah yea, found it

Textures\Curry-cl.dds - Teh file is corrupt.

Somebody posted a good copy of that file for individual download a page or two back. Just overwrite the corrupted one with it and you should be good to go!

Hey guys got a few probs with the new edition. Firstly, most ships and structures are black, cant see a thing. Secondly all destruction effects are just big white boxes, if a ship dies all that i see in it's place is a white box and finally most ships dont have an icon so if i scroll out i cant see them at all. Is any of this because of the mod or because of my pc? i have a 1GB GeForce 250 GTS

dairaton: Although I have no work on the mod whatsoever, I would advise deleting everyting and anything related to the SOA mod in your sins directory and then download and install the mod again.... (hell windows is an odd thing.... and sometimes a fresh install will fix all the problems :)

 

edit: also go to Nvidia's website and install the latest drivers for your video card..... this may also be the cause of your issue.
