Are you being hunted and skinned by native Opossum? I ask this because the Opossums in North America are having issues with migrant possums. Opossums claim possums are bringing down the economy of maggots and worms; that soon enough, Opossums would see a Possum King! And some have taken armed watch around America's borders to prevent possums from entering and mating with the locals. I know you as a possum, feel alone in the vast American wilderness but there are some who welcome diversity with open arms. In case you need it, I run an underground railroad for possums seeking asylum where they can live in harmony with Opossums and possums alike. Live free and prosper

It might, if Opossums had an obvious way of identifying citizen status. Opossums are not comfortable with others who look different to them. Therefore they harass legal and illegal Possums alike! The issue here is a famous "exiled possum" which is renowned in his community as "The Great Fornicator". It is said in the Tomes of Possumdom that a great leader will rise from exile and spred its essence among the females. They will multiply and leach from the North American bush. The Great Fornicator will gather the passel and travel the land urinating on every state until one day the impossible will happen; The possum will mate with an Opossum creating the Racoon.

I've seen possums that aren't comfortable with ones who look different from them. And I've seen Opossums that don't care about what others look like. But then again stereotyping ones due to place of origin, fur coloring, religion, etc. has always been the dumbest thing ever.
