Going west from El Paso? That part of Texas is called New Mexico. So what other part did you see, if any?

on I-10 you hit nothing for a long ass time until San Antonio and the Houstn (where I am), then it goes into Louisiana and you either take new I-10 down to New Orleans, or old I-10 across to cut time. There are a lot of small places here and there in teh southeast. San Antonio is hill country that goes on for about an hour in each direction and Houston is wetlands, so lotsa grass, but not a natural bump in the ground. Lotsa creeks though.

Ahh the good ol' I-10; cuts through Texas like the esophagus of the human body. Good stuff right thar'....

@draak-yeah I was on i-10 for a while, then turned on to another highway later, don't remember what know, like I said, its been a while, like......damn 11 years?! maybe 12, eh I know I was 19 at the time and now almost 31 so its been awhile and dont remember all the details, just the ones I thought were interesting (like the sun popping right in my eyes at sunrise, I just pulled over and slept for a few until it went away)

Yeah, the sun goes away when you wait long enough. I was just wondering. I'm not a native, but Texas has some decent things to offer if you're in the right place. As for esophagus, since most of the illegal immigrant traffic comes along I-10 from the valley, I can't help but sometimes think of it as more of an intestinal tract with one helluva colon length, and with El Paso being the anus.

true, Texas does, the area where my friend lives is nice, he keeps wanting me to go there but I have family in AZ that need care a lot so Im stuck here

Can't blame you there. I'm not one to encourage moving (for me it's like hooking people up, if it goes wrong it comes back to you), but visiting can be fun, especially if you know where the sights and sounds are.
