Well, if you gently press the business end of your gun to their foreheads, stroke their hair, smile and slowly, peacefully pull the trigger, that would be a non-violent way to shoot someone. ...either that or I've been a very violent man.
In Warcraft3 (cited because it's the best RTS ever made, especially for fluid unit control)
I wish I could say I stopped reading here... It was such a clear sign, but something inside me said "ignore it, read on"... There are some things that can be improved upon in the special abilities command system, true. Well, actually just one thing, command chaining. But it's not such a critical need, cause Warcraft 3 had it to offset it's "click this ability now sixteen

It gets better... They're releasing mod tools, which will allow people to make mods that are free! Mods that SD and IC could have made serious money off!

ID is, as mentioned, backed by people who are professional conmen who are, ultimately, backed by the Catholic Church. These men and women are professionals at raising such a huge amount of dust with a very limited manpower so that a simple trotting jockey in the desert looks like a 1000-stallion strong stampede from further away. ID exists for one simple reason, which may not be obvious. Think about it, what's the number one thing Catholic Church wanted in the past 100 or so years? I mean,

I was just asking cause I was hoping for a Sins style thick DVD box with the cover that opens into some inner picture thingy... Ah well, GC2, DA and TotA still fits snuggly onto a single DVD :P

Phase missiles that manage to phase completely ignore the effects of mitigation. Mitigation starts at 15% and goes up the more a ship is under fire, up to ~60%. Advent has a research that allows their shield mitigation to go up to 70%. That means any hit upon a ship with 60% mitigation will do only 40% of it's listed damage. Shield Mitigation stays in effect even after you take down the shields. Subverters increase the rate of successful phaseing of phase missiles. That means that fleets with su

I'm just popping in to reply to the Zeitgeist thing. Zeitgeist is pretty incomplete and very loaded and biased. It is rife with half-facts and rear-sight to support all the conspiracy theories in it. But it is a great starting point! You should watch the movie just to have your handy list of stuff to read up on yourself.

AARGH! It ate my post! AARGH! Anyway, the bugs could have that TEC superweapon but it would chuck asteroids at planets. ... But I don't think the world(book and movies) has enough to flesh out a single faction, let alone two or more. Too much creative filling up required...

Oh, and the TEC superweapon that shoots giant asteroids at insane distances! ... But overall, I don't think there's enough richness in the world(book and movies combined) to make for one complete faction, let alone two or three.

I've a simple idea about Returning Armada... Let's say we put it on a global timer(one timer for all instances of the ability for any one player), and change it's functionality. Remove the autocast, and have it's recharge timer increased to something like 480 seconds. Depending on the amount of time passed since the last time you triggered the ability and the number of gates under your command, the ability will spawn a different number of ships. Once you build your first gate, you can use Return

I think it's way easier to import DoW's resource model. Asteroids generate power with power plants and the like, planets generate requisition. It worked there, so why not here? Other systems don't have too much in common with each other..

Warning! Bolt down the hatches and button up, The_Regicide is posting in the thread! I could never for the life of me understand the need for a Patrol command in any RTS. I can see the appeal if you're a Sim City player, and while I do love Sim City, I just don't get people who play Real Time Sim City games. So here I place this anti-sign. This now makes two matter-antimatter reactions ready to blow the thread into errant neutrinos. P.S. Ironhand, where's you? :P

For the last time, the problem IS NOT the minidump! Seriously, your logic sounds like the Federal Government shutting down phone lines in the entire state because people die when other people call the cops to report murders...
