After Entrenchment focusing on defense, and something named like Compulsion with extra diplomacy and piracy options, the third expansion will probably be called Onslaught, and give massively powerful new offensive options. What about the threat level increasing as you go down the fleet research tree? Like, early game, five ships results in "Hostile Fleet Incoming!" while in the late game, that same warning sound would trigger on 25 or more ships...
