heavy cruisers... its like the "win" button.

I am surprised not one person realized that the "good american values" by "some guy I don't remember the name of" was a quote of JESUS. The guy made a joke and not a single person got it.
How many people are willing right now? we can't really schedule a date until more people are avilable.
[quote]I would much rather ships NOT move around except when necessary to shoot. They would almost certainly wander off someplace and get killed, and moving around randomly provides absolutely no tactical benefit, as doing so would disrupt formation cohesion and has absolutely no defensive value. Heck, I would rather FIGHTERS have the option to stand their ground and SHOOT, because often they are leaving weapons range, and thus unable to fire as often as they could, something that is rather crit
my point is, the test is faulty. maybe bug isn't the "correct" word choice. But if the test thinks there is incorrect port forwarding on a router less setup then the test needs revising.
mmm, raider xenophobia can have its uses actually. Advanced players know that XP is over valued. Your capital ship shouldn't be farming XP, it should be leading your troops in conquering the enemy planets. I now deal with pirates solely by using canons. Ofcourse, I can be really devious and just bid higher then other people. 1000 credits for 25 ships to attack a random enemy planet (to the death) is one heck of a deal. Sure his cap might level from it, but I will take some of his planet
What would I be failing on a computer that connects DIRECTLY to the internet without a router?
ah, i see penalties also pass on to the next colonizer then. I noticed that you can "steal" bonuses from the enemy by killing a freshly colonized planet and then colonizing it, giving you speed or cost bonus to planetary structures. I didn't know penalties also carried over.
No comments about me saying that only an utter noob needs crystal early on? Until at LEAST 10 minutes into the game I need money most of all, metal second. Only then does crystal become an issue. If you are running out of crystal early on you are playing the game wrong. 1. planet upgrades are over rated, only do them when needed. (level 1 and 2 civic upgrade ASAP. higher levels only when rich, everything else only when VERY rich) 2. Regular frigates (money + metal, but 0 cry
basically when you explore a planet (looking for artifacts and local bonuses) you have a very small chance of finding space ponies. I heard they tend to be in pirate bases though, so try conquering and exploring those. Anyways, I have yet to receive an answer as to what kind of bonus it provides. (for example, there is a crystal miner bonus that gives +50% crystal mining in that system... so something like that probably)
ok so obviously this thread got lost. Anyone has an answer to the "mass reduction". And has anyone from stardock seen it and added it to the bug reports? (I would check myself if there was a list of open bugs somewhere)
I can't click it, I am already at war and it is grayed out. I got a hunch though, so I offered the AI peace, and when it was rejected my ships started attacking correctly again. So this is a bug that can be "fixed" in game, but a bug nonetheless... I am waiting for a developer to post here that he say it so I can let the thread die.
Actually I am waiting for a DEVELOPER to see it and make a response. Also, bumping should be limited to older threads, but its completely fine to bump your own. I waited from feb 14th till march 3rd to bump this. If someone was gonna see it they would have already. it obviously sank to the oblivion of older threads and needed to be resurrected.
it IS a bug. They have a time limit until the bonus expires, but the bonus is not available for a little while after colonization. This means you: 1. Either loose some time (if it expires 3 minutes after as it should, but starts 1 minute after, then you loose a minute), or get shifted time (it starts one minute too late, but gives one minute extra, so your overall time since colonization till expiration is stretched) 2. You will miss out on the bonuses by upgrading too early. Any player
yes it does matter, if it didn't matter i wouldn't have asked. Curiosity killed the cat, and if my curiosity isn't sated I will go sacrifice a few.
its a bug in the reporting software. It sometimes tell you the port is closed even if its open, make sure its open and just wait for a few minutes and see if people join (make sure there are people around and that your game name isn't stupid, and that its a reasonably sized map)... I always get the same error (even when connecting direct to the internet, bypassing the router completely) and I have been hosting games fine despite it.
Your mistake is in assuming the infrustructure upgrade is a high priority one.. it costs LOTS, 225 metal and 225 crystal (and 650 money) and gives you the ability to slow grow the income from the planet by up to 3 more (you already get 4 for capital, and 3 from tax, it doubles tax)... Instead I just make sure to go out and colonize quickly. I usually only purchase that upgrade when I have 5+ planets. at which point it isn't significant anymore. My build order is as follows:<br/
[quote]As for spread fire "looking cool", I dispute this argument. Firstly, it's subjective: There's no evidence to suggest that it ACTUALLY looks cool. I, for one, am more impressed by the concentration of a massive amount of firepower on a single hapless target. It makes me chuckle and think, "Sucks to be you, dude.". Wild spread-firing, on the other hand, impresses on me a sense of distaste and poor fire discipline. It does not "look cool", it looks like a disorganized mob of untrained rabble
now that i am not longer a newb I always get 1 colony capital, and the rest are frigates and cruisers. More capital ships are just not worth it. With a few exceptions. Sometimes I get a second colonizer to be the core of a secondary fleet. With the advant I like getting one carrier for its ability to amplify damage of ALL nearby ships (making it a worthwhile addition to any large fleet). The vasari colony ship 6th level ability destroys planets rapidly AND gives you to
bump
can anyone confirm this bug? Or note that it has been seen by developers and will be addressed?
oh, I found another related bug. The advant colonized a nearby astroid, I immidately killed it and colonized it with a vasari colony frigate and I go a 20% cost reduction on all purchases despite being the vasari and despite colonizing with a frigate. The bonus should have died with the planet.
so, anyone can confirm this bug? Or note that it has been seen by developers and will be addressed?
ok, but what would it do IN GAME when I find it? Can I find it a second time now that I already got the achievement? Basically, I wanna know if it gives a planetary boost like other finds do.
well of course they will attack the same one! it dies faster and stops shooting at you! Yea you get diminishing returns, but it is still worth it by a LOT. you want to kill enemy ships, not slowly wear out their shields while they are killing YOU. Also, bring more kodiacs, MUCH MORE.
