Sweet, I will have to give this a try.

Really. I did not know that. That would have been so useful when I was trying to assault a pirate base. Ships were going individually and getting slaughtered by 90 or so kodiak heavy frigates.
I would like that. There are times where I would want the whole fleet to jump in at once rather than individually. That way the capital ships stay with the smaller ships when they go together.
Also, Sins doesn't support Transparency maps on the ships. Not sure if that can be changed with moding.
Are you sure? The pirates have a flag on the TEC heavy cruiser. Its a little green flag on the back and I believe it is transparent.
That is impressive. Really there is not much choice out there when you have space games. Sins has successfully mixed an RTS with a 4X TBS to get something unique and memorable. Great job guys. As always you create excellent, fun, and time draining games :D.
10K is excessive in my opinion. You should probably never have to go over 4 or 5k poly's. Even then those would be for capital ships and they are very high. Everything is much smaller. Models that are low detail not only will run on more systems, but the texture will help in giving it the rest of the detail you might waste with extra poly's
How is it unfinished? Battlefield 2 is 40 - 50 dollars and it only has multiplayer/skirmishes. There are countless games that work like this.
Nope, colonizing ships are not consumed when colonizing. They simple use there ability to colonize and it cant be used for 30 seconds to let it cool down.
From the looks of it, it seems to be centered around vista. People with XP(32bit) at least dont seem to be having any problems, however, so far only myself and one other have XP 32bit and posted in this thread.
I would say check your audio drivers to be sure seeing how they are integrated. Sometimes they can go un updated for quite some time.
It appeals to casual gamers. It is simple yet interactive. You can design and dictate how your people live. They dont have to think about it. I played it and got bored. I just dont see whats so great about it.
Im running a Q6600, 2gb ram, 7950GT OC forceware 169.21, and XP32bit. Everything on highest except high planets at 1152x864. No freezes or slowdowns so far.
Sounds like there is problems with your computer rather than the game itself. Have you updated all your drivers for your video/sound card and other components
Demo should be out in about a month I think.
At the very least we will probably have them by sometime next week if things dont work out for this week I would think.
I actually just read my new Games for Windows Magazine and Ken Levine (BioShock Creator) Mentions in an interview that he is dying to get his hands on Sins of a Solar Empire. In the same magazine there is a two page ad that gives a bit of info on the game with the title Homeworld Meets Civilization. I must say, there are MANY people who are very interested in this game. My local gamestop only got one copy in (which I got the moment they delivered the package) and even they were interest
Wrecks certainly would add a nice touch. At the very least there should be ones for capital ships and cruisers. Maybe just small chunks for the frigates.
Not bad, that looks very well done. Sorta like the minimalist UI for supreme commander. Is the top bar unchanged?
I was wondering how I would go about getting the Sins logo for some wallpapers I was wanting to do.
A wiki is a great idea. Certainly would be handy to hold information for the game like strategies and modding info.
Modding: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Loading mods supported Might be ready by Friday. Maybe. So does this mean the modding tools will be released before the patch?
The mod tools would be nice. Are they planned for this patch or later?
Very cool. Would you mind posting the process of taking a screenshot (eg displaying the UI etc.)
There wont be DX10 support. That has to be made into the game at the beginning. I would think they didnt go that route because so few people have DX10 while the majority have DX9.
I would think so. It should be a big white sticker, that is impossible to miss. Are you sure it isnt stuck to the back of the manual for some reason?
Awesome story. Its amazing how well the AI is playing. Most games I have played the AI usually just sits around despite the odds against them. Cant wait for the next battle.
