So what sort of ships are going to be used? I have been going through what videos there are on the web and it doesnt seem like there is too many ships. I have got the cruisers, battleships, and fighter, but I think there must be smaller ships as well as a variety of flagships. The carriers im having a bit of a hard time finding. I know what the imperial and free alliance forces have as carriers. The FPA carrier I only have one shot of in the distance sort of. Its enough to get a basic i

You would think that they would order more copies initially. Heck when I went to my gamestop, they only had one copy that was still in the shipping box yet they got 9 copiers of Turok for the 360.

Very cool. I cant wait for my copy to arrive in the mail. Love PC Gamer. They take apart a game and point out the greatness and potential flaws which make there reviews so worthwhile. Congratulations on the awesome score Stardock/Ironclad.

I believe that you can only have 3 types of weapons (like a beam, missile, and autocannon) however you can have many banks of said weapon. For instance the kol has 4 beam weapons on the front which would be weapon-0. Autocannons would be weapon-1 and whatever weapon 3 is would be weapon-2.

The reason why they left those features out was because they wanted to reach as many people as they could. Myself and countless others are sick of haveing to spend a couple hundred bucks a game just so you can play them well. Would sins have been more detailed? Yes, however I would take gameplay over graphics anyday. So what if turrets dont rotate or whatnot. They dont add anything to the gameplay. I would rather have a game that runs great on a low to mid machine than a game that requi

The flagships could give something like a buff much like the Akkan Battlecruiser for the TEC with its enhanced targeting. You could either have the player choose on the fly which flagship they want and build a set number of them with something like a flagship limit. That way, they can be replaced when they are lost, but still let the player have some choice.

A bone and a helper can be thought of as the same thing. A bone is an object in a modeling program and a helper is what it turns into in the Sins language.

You can have a max of 3 weapon types, but many turrets to fire from. So, the more muzzle points of a particular gun you have the more of that kind of gun that will be firing.

From what little I read and saw on LoGH it seems that the sub factions dont use in particular ship. Looks more like standard ships. (Again, I havent really looked into it, so Im not 100% on this.) As such, they would probably have buffs to their ships along with maybe some unique ships if there are any besides th flagships. I like the idea of one central shipyard that is vital to fleets for repair and rearming. Makes them important enough to stick towards the rear of the fighting so th

Yes, most stores only ordered one or two copies. They figure if the game doesnt have extreme amount of hype ala halo 3, then not many people want it. My gamestop only got one copy and they still dont have any in. Luckily I was the one to get the copy when the box of games came into the door.

1) Id do some modeling and a bit of texturing. Probably due some ship codeing too since it doesnt seem too terribly complicated. 4) Really doesnt matter to me. Whatever is easier to do.

Well, I have heard great things about blender. It is free. Only thing I personally dont like about it is the horrid UI but others seem to like it. There is also XSI Mod tool which is a free version of XSI. Havent tried much of it, but it looks to be a great program. The commercial products are VERY expensive so it might be better to get one of the free ones if you are only going to do a few models.

Actually, there are a few more ships than are listed on that site. In some of the youtube videos you can see some shots of different flagships, cruisers, battleships etc. Some of the regular ships arnt named, but the flagships have there own name and classification I believe. Also found a site that has some models from what looks to be a tabletop version of it. [link="http://spaceship.brainiac.com/spaceship5.html#legendgalactic"]WWW Link[/link] They dont say what class the ships

Yes, starcraft and halo are VERY overrated. I dont think PC gaming is dying. More than likely just going through a phase. The one thing I have noticed though is more and more companies are completely focused on graphics. They spend so much time making photo realistic water than they do making a game that is genuinely fun. The downside to this graphic focus is the steep pc requirements. People dont want to have to keep spending money each year just to play a game. They need to start maki

Well, the ships themselves shouldnt be too hard to model. Most of them are just rectangles so it isnt like there is a great variety in the geometry. Only special ones would be some of the flagships that would need some work to do.

At the moment there is no European release scheduled. The European publishers feel that there is no interest in this sort of game (Which is rather stupid if you ask me).
