Yay, thats good to know. Microsoft ruined Halo 2 by making it vista only. Have been wanting to play that, but dont have an xbox.
Shadow__Warrior
Depends on what you use it for. Really they are just as good as dual core processors. The might not be able to be overclocked to 4Ghz on air, but they are still fast in there own right.
Well, there is always something to wait for in the computer world. A q6600 should work just fine. If need be, they can be overclocked to get more life out of them. Not to mention the new stuff is always very expensive compared to the slightly older technology. And you dont need to dump the quad core. They work just as well as dual cores. Only real difference is speed, but that isnt too noticable for the most part depending on what you are doing. They are great for stuff like 3d and mult
Yea, waiting would be very good. Just remember you wont see all 4Gb of ram in 32Bit XP but that is more than enough for anything you could possible do. I have also heard good things about the Zalman 9700. Should be able to overclock the Q6600 and still get good temps. Hopefully you get a G0 stepping. They are cooler than the earlier B3 models so they overclock better if you are into that sort of thing.
Looks like its something to do with the textures. Are you sure you followed the texture directions in the original post? There might be an error there like a wrong texture name or something.
You have to remember that this is a game. So what if the science behind it isnt correct. Doesnt mean that it isnt any less fun to play.
Ironclad. One word.
Sweet, I will have to give this a try when I have some models to export. Keep up the great work. :CONGRAT:
Yes, it is fixed to the planet. I think you gain control of it if you take the planet from the other player.
Thats how it works. Relics are very helpful, you dont want to have them popping up on every other planet. I think that there is a certain percentage of chance that it will appear.
Well, you could always make up a ship for the Tau to use as there supership. Just create something that would seem plausible in the 41st millennium and fit in with their style of attack and their fleets strengths.
Yay. I was wanting to play this, but I have a ps3 and not a 360. My only wish is that it is not Vista only. I have no intention of getting Vista anytime soon.
Well, that is something that any mp game deals with. You will always have the trash talkers and the ones who think they are godly. Personally, I stay to the bitter end if they are jerks. Nothing is more gratifying than infuriating them further and making them work for that win.
Well, in the context of this game, the races dont exactly like each other all that much. Considering that, it makes since why mass genocide is the only option. Really it is human nature. Humans will do just about anything to survive.
What is this Iron Forge you mention. Never tried any of there space games before. On a side not however I have heard of this great company know as Ironclad that makes this wonderful game known as Sins of a Solar Empire.
I need to start trying to import models. See if that works as intended. Need to figure XSI Mod Tool out first though. Should be quite interesting to experiment with Sins. Cant wait for the more complete tools that will come later down the road.
Yes, a sticky would be handy for those who still use windows 2000.
I dont think you can ban a person for having different view from your own. Thats what makes us human, to have our own views on what is and is not. Personally, I dont really care that Advent are mostly woman. In the context of the game, the lore describes why that is. In real life though, Woman can do just about everything a man can do. If they are good at the job, why should one care about their gender?
I have a 7950 GT OC with the 169.21 drivers and everything runs fine in 32Bit XP.
Take a look at the mod PDF file. Bascically the ConvertXSI is to convert 3d models from XSI into the mesh format. The ConvertData is used to convert the files into binary I believe to make them load faster in the game. The PDF file should explain some things on how they work.
What does the pirate level mean? Like as the game progresses, the activity level goes up to moderate, high, severe, etc... What does that exactly do or entail? Does it affect the overall pirate presence in the game? Does it increase their ships stats? Or what?
I think that it increases the number of ships that will attack you when the timer hits zero.
Actually, I know that Splash Damage (Quake Wars), Gas Powered (Supreme Commander), and Crytek (Crysis) are active on their forums helping others. However none come close to Ironclad. Usually the others are like "Yea will get it to you soon" And thats all you hear for 2 months. Ironclad is great in that they tell you they are actually working on it. :HOT:
Is changing a planet model into something else dynamically even possible? Would be very cool though to have nothing but asteroids of once great planets of your enemy.
Halo might be interesting. The only thing you would have to do is make up some of the ship designs seeing how the game only shows a UNSC ship in Halo 1 and some Covenant cruisers in the end or so (Only played Halo 1). The Halo books however give allot more insight into the number of ships and there varieties.
Well, most games that are modded can only have one mod running at a time. I dont think that there are too many games out there that let you have more than one mod running at once, is there?
