It's not about slipping or not. I have SOLID, GOOD strategies for Tec (and actually, my Vasari is even stronger, so those builds will be good). Unfortunately, I STILL HAVE NO IDEA how to play Advent as well as the other two. In fact, I think Advent just blow. So this is the best I could do with the games I played.

Vasari coming... at some point? Build 1: Standard 1v1 (non rush) build on small-medium map: 1. Buy 2 units of crystal 2. Upgrade home planet 3. 1 Worker on Cap ship, 1 worker on crystal 4. Build 2 seekers, scout 5. Start Radiance when cap ship fac finishes 6. Start 2 metal extractors 7. Build colony ship 8. Take nearby asteroid (all maps have 1 nearby asteroid) 9. While taking asteroid, scuttle capital shi
Yeah, we usually play much later, at like 9-12 PM east. Sorry :(
Nexusil is just making a joke. In our random 2v2s, he's been not building units, and just building mass temples of communion. This keeps the games challenging (1v2!) Too bad the games end before his culture ever does anything :( Poor scrub.
I'm going to start testing out the strategies we've discussed. The map will be close encounters, I will start playing as of right now. If anyone wants to join me, say something on the thread and we'll work something out. The four strats I want to look at are: Malice Mothership with Illums Seeker Carrier with Radiance Disciple Carrier with Radiance Defense Disciple with Radiance I will THEN play 1v1s on the random no pirates 1v1 map The
To spice, aren't you in a completely different continent / time zone? That will make gaming difficult. To Pony guy, your clan seems like a pretty open/noob friendly clan. That's not for us.
You can reasonably get 1 research ship (illum, carrier, or defense) + disciples + capital ship. 2 Research ships means a lot of additional starting income into research and no unit production, which means you're lagging badly on units. As to why Illuminators seem to suck, they only do 1/3rd of their dps to single target, and they never fire all 3 beams unless your opponent is being an idiot. Realistically, on premade small 1v1 maps, I don't think Advent survive. Defense vesse
Normal small map 1v1s involve your homeworld + 1 asteroid. People who take more usually die. I guess that's news to people who don't 1v1 :)
Ok, so here's an example of someone who wrote something useful: Erres1108, even though I don't agree with a lot of what you're saying, your approach is novel, and I will test it out. I'm not shooting down anything new, just the opposite. The whole point of the thread is to see what NEW strategies exist, and how to implement them into the build (which I'm in the process of writing). On the other hand, here's a totally worthless response: the only 2 1v1s i have play
I don't mean to be... an ass. But responses like this: "Small map 1 vs 1.... 4 disciples, a mothership, and 2 temple of harmony so you can research the evangelism things, expand fast and hard, making sure to get your capital all the experience it can get, then research the guardian, illuminators and defense vessels, should take you about 30 minutes, at which point you need to figure out what to do,as it gets situational. " That's not a small map 1v1. That
Sample replays of 1v1 Vs Gelu, who is still learning, and his builds were pretty poor. But his gamesense and micro were good, so he was accepted into the clan. So far, I have 4 players + myself, still looking for a few more. I guess I should clarify. With enough cap ships, Advent becomes pretty nice, with malice and various AOE spells to wipe out large groups of ships. But before then, if you look at raw dps figures, Advent is really lacking. They don't have the shield pierce/missile swarm/power up that the Vasari have, or the cheap LRMs + gauss + raw DPS of the Mazra.
Here's my "opinion" Advent Blows. Blows Blows Blows Blows. Illuminators are crap, so they are missing the brunt of their fleet. Their ships come at higher tech, their economy is high tech, and while their cap ships are durable, they generally have the lowest dps in the game. The good units are: Disciples (no tech requirement) Guardian (extremely steep tech requirement) Crusaders (even higher) Defense vessels (as a counter unit) Goo
I think kharma is the only sane one in this whole ridiculous thread.
Clan eZ vs Clan LOS We were going with a DA rush, and my partner has played maybe 2 online games of Sins I get rushed hardcore by mothership + disciples, I had 4 imperial labs in preparation of the DA. So, I give up my terran planet, and immediately decomission my labs. I replace them with 1 military lab, and start assailant research. The fight goes to my home planet, where I rout them with my superior micro. The game is 1-sided from there, with a 1v2 taking place o
Just arrange a time/map/format. I don't really care who we play.
I'm interested in a 3v3, but I think 4v4 is highly unbalanced. Let's pick a map, time, and such.
You don't stay in their base You just embargo and jump to a nearby star for mana regen, then jump in again when able.
No, i mean the population upgrade in the asteroid itself, so you don't have negative upkeep.
Dear Sins Community This is the guy who keeps starting flame wars on the forums. Regardless of whether or not you agree with my point(s) of view, you should realize by now that I take games relatively seriously. By that I mean, I like delving into the details and understanding the game, rather than just ad hocing everything. You might say my builds are uncreative, but since they are MY original builds, they are, by definition, creative. Now I'm starting a clan for
The real problem is that cruisers are more expensive than flaks, and flaks counter cruisers 1 on 1. What I mean to say is, we have to take a more scientific approach to the whole thing. We can do it pop vs pop (fleet vs fleet) instead of these ridiculous ai scenarios. For instance, LRMs are only 4 pop, Flaks are only 4 pop. Furthermore, you have diminishing returns from additional carriers. Why is this? Because the more fighters clump, the more damage they take from
no That's not usually what happens Peoples' computers have different speeds So usually one person loads a lot faster than everyone else :)
Good question. Don't upgrade your home planet. That's 200 crystal right there :) Forgot to mention it, will edit.
Let's get this show on the road. Today we start with Tec. We'll move on to Advent at some point, then finally Vasari... at some point. These builds are explicitly for 2v2 and 1v1. They are not for comp stomping (although they WILL comp stomp quite well), or for playing ffa (again, you can pretty much kill a few people before their bad builds get online). Build 1: Standard 1v1 (non rush) build on small-medium map: 1. Buy 2 units of crystal<
