I agree; at medium zoom you get those (O) brackets around your planet that show friendly/enemy fleets. In Beta 3 the sidebars didn't show construction frigates but in beta 4 they do.. can't see the reason for the change. I don't have any trouble with tradeships though.

Don't get all worked up about the AI sucking. We told everyone the new AI didn't make it into the initial release of Beta 4. Ironclad is currently slaving away on the new AI and when it's ready it will be many times better than what everyone's seen so far. I was paying attention.. But without seeing the new AI I wasn't sure if my little list of issues have been taken care of. If the new AI comes out and it whoops my butt *and* it fixes up all the little

I actually played a game just recently - I decided that I would go 100% bombers and that's it. I focused on nothing bot Sova carriers and the research to get me more of them (cap ship upgrades, missile strength upgrades) and I threw in bomber hangars for defense and the occasional Carrier Corvette if I had a few spare bucks. I was thoroughly tromping over all the enemy fleets for quite a while. Maybe 45 minutes of gameplay. I owned about 10 planets which was more than my fair share, but

hehe.. I mainly said FUBAR because I needed yet another acronym to complete my tri-fecta of awesome. but what use is the forum when you don't supply solutions to the problems you complain about?

The freely downloadable game "Sea3D" (Based on settlers of catan) has this exact system. In the lobby a game is listed as "WAIITING FOR [playername]" and the dropped person can reattempt that way. Rather than the odd power-cord-tripping I sometimes drop my WiFi signal, or perhaps something downloading in the background will increase my packetloss enough to 'lose a connection' so I tend to drop out of 10% of my games at least once.

Ah and one more thing. (10) I don't do it much any more to add to difficulty, but I usually try to make peace with one bordering AI while I launch attacks on my opposite border. Makes sense. What doesn't make sense is that while I'm decimating the enemy on my one-front war, the AI of the peaceful nation will allow me to slowly build a giant fleet in his home system, and right after I think my opposite war is un-losable I cancel the pact and immediately have a nice juicy homeworld to tak

So I'm sitting back and not trying very hard, never building anything more than light frigates, and seem to be able to whoop any number of AI in any scenario. I was thinking perhaps one of the skill levels was broken, so I went to go fiddle with it - I had it set to (E)xpert, so I cycled through to (M)edium and (H)ard and I was wondering why the heck there was no novice setting.... then it slowly dawned on me... OK so a week passes, and now I'm playing on (H)ard (damnit!) and though I a

Removed due to numerous complaints that people were mistakenly setting rally points rotating the camera or trying to right click move units. Is there another way we could make it easier for you? Eugh, dumbed down to the lowest common denominator then... harumph. I suppose best scenario would be a checkbox, disabled by default for those that can't control their clicking fingers? <img src="http://images.stardo

Augh this is driving me nuts, I've had B3 a few minutes after StardockCentral found it and I've only managed to squeeze in 10 minutes of gameplay. I'll have a more in-depth review later. But for now; OH GOD BRING BACK RIGHT-CLICK RALLYPOINTING I see no reason for it to have dissappeared! You used to be able to click on a planet, then right-click on another planet or (better yet) on a fleet icon in the empire-tree, and have your newly built ships automatically head ther

Scrolling the map is good and bad. Ideally, a scroll pad area that it did so in would be perfect. If you just remove scrolling when not focused, it becomes a pain in the ass to scroll while in windowed mode, having to balance on the edges. I don't quite understand what you're saying... My biggest complaint is if I move the mouse outside of the window and start clicking on browsers or what have you, the

Crap, I may have the names wrong, and I'm perpertually saying "warp" instead of "phase." What's that big ship that looks like a hand giving the middle finger? (from the top down)

23 Replies 7,801 Views

I spent an hour doing nothing but phasing fleets back and forth, and when an enemy fleet warped in everything was cool. I took out all his ships except his malkuth capital ship, and as it attempted to warp out I think I fired my warp-inhibition ability on him. Locky-crashy! Right as that shimmering blue cone appeared off the bow of his ship. It was the only one warping at the time.

COMPLAINTS ABOUT WINDOWED MODE NOW: - Mouse doesn't lock to the window, yet it will continue scrolling the map if I move my mouse off the screen - You can't alter the resolution

Once the option to rename planets and ships is enabled, this shouldn't be a problem. Argh, you guys don't understand. I don't use the empire tree, I don't know my planet's names, I don't have any desire to name my planets, I simply don't NEED to know my planet's names! When you zoom out to strategic view, you se

I think research happens pretty damned quickly as it is - I even think research should be slowed down a bit! The only thing I would argue for is simultaneous Civic/Military research, but then I'd say make it a checkbox, and if activate they both go half speed?

That was maxed-out AIs in a large galaxy, each on Hard. It was fun watching the AI furiously spend money though. After giving them thousands watching their cash drop super fast is nice to see. PS: We need a way to send gifts of over 250. It took a lot of clicks to give away 100K!

Alas, it seems that no one reads the info cards we put so much work into Aww man, I felt really bad after reading that NO WAIT I CALL YOU OUT SIR I just fired up the game and hovered over all sorts of research-base icons, both building, under construction, built, and other structures as well, and the only indicator of an advancement is "This structure allows you to advance civilian technology" or some such. <img src="http

This technique doesn't allow you to pick specific things for specific actions (e.g, selecting a structure to scuttle). Heh, that's a pretty circular argument. I'm saying add a scuttle button elsewhere, and you're saying it's already there. I said elsewhere damnit! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Tongue.gif" border=0 align="absmiddl

Hmmm, interesting take. A reward for holding on to them would definitely work as well. of course, I had no idea there was production bonuses, so maybe you *should* increase them a bit. Or at least tell us what the figures are.
