I think you should make "unnecessary eye candy". Because its awesome. Half of all Oblivion mods ever released were just eye candy, lod textures and stuff, and they are hugely popular and i myself count them as a must have, even if they dont change the gameplay. I mean, if you love a game, why change it? I love this game, so i wouldnt want it changed, just the eye candy that doesnt have any affect on the gameplay.
First off, im very impressed! But one of the gas giants icon in the infobar is wrong =P And while the original star textures were far too dim, i dont like your green or red textures either. Especially the red one isnt red enough, and the green one looks a bit puke-ish :D I do really hope you will make totally new textures as well, once the proper mod tools are released! And i hope you can ADD them to the game, so we can eventually have like 20 different ice textures to show up ingam

Dude, that cd-key is probably (99% certain) just the one from the most distributed pirated copy of the game availible online. Hence it was a person from that crack-group that bought the game and wrote that cd-key along with the dvd-image files. So no poor gamer that buys or bought the game will be affected. SOTS had better combat, research and galaxy shapes, Sins have better core gameplay and stuff.

Chat text or text on the planets (i have that text turned on permanently in the user interface options). Or when holding alt, or when 25 turrets show their radius with alt, nothing :) Other than that game setup screen (prolly something in the 3d background, not the interface) its always stable at 75fp
Thats because there are many different ships in the game, but only 1 basic attack frigate, and tahts the Cobalt for TEC, and only 1 basic attack cruiser.. The rest of the ships are specialized support ships, for instance a fleet of 50 shield draining support cruisers with a laser dmg of 4 wouldnt do much good now would it? :)

Its very annoying to play a 10 player game and have every AI whine about one THOUSAND credits right from the start when you cant possibly afford it.. Perhaps a modifier that checks if you have 2/3's MORE credits/resources than they want, before they actually ask for it?
Yeah, so i made a kickass superb team map. And then i find out that no matter what i do the start locations are random, even with locked teams and all kinds of tricks ingame.. Why?
Please do make it modular, because i hate that new starfield.. But the rest was awesome! But perhaps increase the contrast a tiiny bit on the backgrounds ? To make the dark parts appear slightly darker, and the bright parts slightly brighter. The white star texture definetly needs to be more bright anyway, it has to look white ingame, not grey, very important :)
even if its just a simple tiny random one out of three possible meshes that orbits the home planet, im happy. our earth couldnt sustain life (or us at least) without our moon to stabilize the climate.. since the only homeplanets in sins are terran or desert, you have to assume that the devs took our earth as the example, yet no moon? :)
why not just have a dark gray or even black build bar? Works on all colors. sure its, unconventional, but who cares?
Why not just bring back the old control group display in empire view? However you put it, its always easier to just press ctrl+1, and then press 1 anytime you want to select that combat force, than to sit and fool around with fleets :P
