A good game hidden behind a thick muddy veil of bugs and 1991 style control conventions.

Amazing to see it updated, i'm so happy after the disappointment that was Legends of Pegasus. I still wish for a miracle patch by Ironclad to solve all these out of memory minidumps once and for all.
Blablabla Steam is a great app. I've never had a single issue with it, except the first year it was launched lol. All games work great, no issues with disconnects. No issues with downloads. No issues with anything. If any game ever borks up, it is because the game itself was a buggy piece of shit (cough Sots2 cough). In fact I've had MORE problems in the past pre-digital era with cd's and dvd's failing to read properly in my cd/dvd drive, or DMR (that wa
Oh god this has to be updated for Rebellion :(
yeah lol, i cant even see what most frigates shoot at, revamped or not.
This forum layout ruins this thread, sigh. Awesome screens, when you middle-mouse click and drag side to side to piece it together in your brain. Seriously Ironclad, isn't it about time we use more than a forum layout optimized for 800x640? (or whatever it is) So narrow.....
Of course i zoom! The game would be impossible without it, haha :) Rotation is not zoom ;) I did find it. In rebellion.camera.setting in C:\Users\Baleur\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Setting baseRotationSpeed 0.000000 maxRotationSpeed 0.000000
Can't wait for this to be made compatible with Rebellion. Seeing as how the particles in this mod still are far superior to anything the devs have made (even with their 'revamps'), and how they still barely bothered to add new planet types or traits, i really feel like i'm playing a gimped game until this mod is back in my filthy slimy paws [e digicons] Why don't we pay you guys instead? Why isn't this polished up and made into an official expansion
I agree. I would have paid for the Distant Stars mod. In fact i would have paid twice for that what i paid for this. And then you see that in this expansion, they still barely bothered adding any new planettypes or planet traits. Wow, a dwarf planet. Thanks. Not to mention that the bailknight's particle mod still is far superior to Rebellion's "revamped amazing next gen particle effects". I can't even see what my ships are shooting at unless i'm zoomed so far
Unfortunately there is no such hotkey anywhere, not to spinning the camera, nor to reset the angle.
Really should have made this thread when the first Sins was released as it has always bugged me. I much prefer a rather static view throughout the course of the entire game, and having right click to rotate the camera always causes me to accidentally mess up the camera angle occasionally when right clicking to enable auto-explore on scouts and other stuff. Is there any .ini file somewhere to edit so i can delete this "hotkey", or perhaps even remove camera rotating alltogether? <
First off, I despise Gamestop for their practices in their physical stores, let's not go into it deeper, just saying that it depends alot on how they used to treat the publishers and devs, issuing embargoes and other nonsense that delayed releases on digital media or even raised the price due to Gamestop forcing publishers to give them the better deal so they could stay competitive. So you can understand that i do not ever want to give a single penny to them, right? Now, I do
Hey, used to be a BIG fan of this mod but havent played the game in ages. I'm just wondering if the same old out-of-memory crash bug still exists? I noticed some recent Sins patch included major memory revamps and preformance enhancements, does this positively affect heavy duty mods like this one? (oh please god say it does) I'm also running 64bit now, perhaps that will help compared to before (i crashed just as the games were getting interesting) Reading the abov
I cant believe this mod is STILL going strong :D Just reinstalled the game again (for the 5th time), and the first thing i always do is go to the forums to dl this very mod ;)
It always amuses me that you people have to delete the particle and turn down the effects just to play, I usually just patch and I have never had any problems with crashing
Amuses? When you can play every single game in the world without crashes (even frequently crash-reported games like mmo betas), but not Sins, i'd say its not quite amusing :P The fact is there is still something wrong with this game, and it will pro
Well, considering that the Sins devs still havent fixed the minidumps (especially when using mods such as Distant Stars, and i will NOT play the game without mods), i'll def give Distant Worlds a try.
Awe shit they canceled good shows like SG-1 and now SGA. Sci-fi is crap now for doing this. I mean who watches doctor who ??
I sure dont. I have always thought and always will think that Doctor Who is a pile of crap. I really hate humour in Sci-Fi. I can accept tiny bits of humor like in Stargate etc, but not when the actual genre is Sci-Fi-Humour. And who the hell cares about what other new shows they are bringing, like Sanctuary. Who cares if it will be com
Actual variety in the units... Its so fucking boring to have 1 single ship for normal combat, and 1 single ship for long range combat, and 1 single heavy combat cruiser. Essentially each race has 3 combat ships, the rest are just micromanagement support ships. I would love it if this game went more along with the Supreme Commander style. Which means more unit variety even if they fill the same role.. Have light frigates, medium frigates, heavy frigates, missile frigates, missile
GTA4 or Tony Hawk PGA Tour 2009 ? Ferrari or Banana ? Thats sort of the logic behind your comparison :P
And i have a problem with using Impulse, because its yet another application that im forced to install and run in order to update my games.. What was so wrong with a simple .exe from the game's site as in the old days? Good thing the game is actually worth it though.
And you will like the new ones....
Actually no, i wont/dont :P For the simple reason that they are not new races at all. They are all almost carbon copies of the original races, or just with some pirate ships and some vasari, or some vasari and some advent. I dont want to be mean, but thats why i never cared for the new races in this game, mod-wise. Because they just arent new. Yes the Empire sort of is, but then again im not that much of a star wars fan :P
So danman, for those of us (wierd fucks) that arent that interested in the new races, and where the main reason for loving this mod is all the other things it does like planet bonuses, rogue stars etc etc etc.. Is there anything new to look forward to in 2.0 besides the black holes? Or is it just new races new races new races? Thx :)
I was deeply dissoponted by this mod. fist of all what i got was a mix of advent and Vasari. i dont see how people were considering this a variation of vasari becuase its not. also you Kor-Ah race needs to be severly worked on. I like the rogues although they could use more caps and a way to colinize planets. Anyway what i meant by i was dissapointed was that i thought i was going to get something different than what i got and it wasnt as good as what i wanted. This mod is decent but it c
i need help, this is my first time using mods. i cant your mod to work , so the question is how can i use the mod? (it would be nice to give me step by step instructions). heres what i have done so far:i just downloaded the mod from filefront, and downloaded 7zip (that thing is really fast). i created a seperate folder for it under my c drive. then extracted it using 7zip. then what do i do?the mod looks relly cool.
I always knew george bush was as
No, since that "crazy a" isnt my windows username, but rather the Local Settings folder being translated :P I'll just hope its fixed in 1.1 as he said :)
