OK so I have a strategy for kicking ass against TEC fleets.....I focus fire on their Hoshikos and then take out their cap ships and the rest is just mop up(on single player, anyway). I am in a game right now though where my large TEC fleet is coming up against a large Vasari fleet, and I'm wondering if there is a similar strategy for defeating Vasari fleets. Should I hit the Overseers first? Or their Skirantra Carrier? So far they keep fighting me off. I've tried both strategies but it seems

General welfare is specific to the nation, not individuals. The sentence lacks the semicolon present in the second amendment, one of the other ones a bunch of dumb fuckers can't seem to read. It says, flat out, that Congress has the power to raise funds in explicitly listed methods no less, for the comm
I like movies with lasers and such. Looks good to me. I liked the original but so long as the new one is entertaining and has lots of lasers and such I'll be happy.
I think a modder needs to make a democrat faction and a republican faction for Sins and then we can all duke it out on Ironclad.....say next Saturday night around 7pm? [e digicons]}:)[/e] Winner gets to blame the loser for causing the financial crisis. We can change the Pirates to the Ralph Nader faction.
I strongly disagree with your labeling the left as 'progressive' (one look at human history will reveal that ideas on the 'right' are far more progressive). 'Right' ideas (read: NOT Republican ideas) are ideas supporting more individual freedom and less government control. This is where America comes from. Over the last 225 years, the experiment that is America has proven without a doubt that these ideas, which were once labeled rad
This is a dumb place to discuss politics, by the way. Games like this are supposed to be an escape from reality....or as close as you can get to reality when discussing politics, which isn't very close at all. Come to think of it maybe this IS the perfect place to discuss politics, as games and politics both seem to be based on attention grabbing fictions. Carry on.[e digicons][/e]
One change that I would like is unlimited fleet sizes. I think you should be able to command as many ships as your system and (game) income can support. I mean, if you 1000 planets colonized I like you should be able to build as many ships as you possibly can. That's how it would be in thr real world afterall.
I second that motion! If not unlimited, then really, really huge like the battlewagon mod where you get 10,000
Ah OK Sins Plus had the planet types and the battle wagon mod had the expanded fleets. I'll have to check out this Solar Sins 2.0 mod. Hopefully it has both the planet types and the fleet sizes. Thanks!
Does this mod include the expanded fleet sizes? Also I used the link in the opening post to get to the website for the mod but it says access denied. Is it just me or is your website down?
Way back in the spring when I was playing Sins I had a mod loaded up that had greatly expanded fleet sizes as well as a number of new planet types....Savannah, Jungle, Rock, Industrial planet, Water planet, etc..... I recently wiped my hard drive so I don't have the info on which mod it was but I'm pretty sure I remember it being the Battlewagon mod, but when I reloaded it after updating Sins to the latest patch I do not get the new planet types. Does anyone remember which mod
When the endgame gets boring I just quit and start a new game.
Does not sound like a fun game for beginners. ;)
I stopped playing online when I started using the Sins Plus mod and the mod that gives you 10,000 fleet points. I found maps with 1 or 2 stars with tons of planets to be unrealistic and not as interesting as maps with 10-20 stars with less planets, and I thought the planet type variety was lacking. When you play with lots of stars, the standard fleet sizes(even using large fleets) are not enough to defend all of your stars. You get more of an epic feel with large maps with lots of stars, in my o
What, yous guys don't wear diapers when you play online? I guess some people just want to win more than others......
I'd like to see a mass scuttle command. As it stands now I use ships that have lost their usefulness as cannon fodder, and use those fleet points to build more appropriate ships as they come. Not as big of an issue with things like trade posts that you want to change to frigate factories though, there just aren't as many of them.
I don't think intelligent design should be taught in the schools. However, darwinist evolutionary theories should be taught as theories, not facts, holes in the theory should be pointed out, and it should not be taught as proof that there is no creator. When you start teaching it as proof of a Godless universe, you are teaching a religious viewpoint, and supposedly that is not allowed in public schools.
This mod is supposed to include the mod with the extra planet types right? I thought it was but either the new planet types are EXTREMELY rare or something isn't loading right. edit: my bad.....I downloaded the wrong one originally
Check out my mod..I have fleet cap sizes of 2,000 (small setting) 5,000 (medium setting) and 10,000 (Large setting).Enjoy!WWW Link
Nice. I'll try it! Which files did you have to change?
I can't seem to find a thread that explains how you can change or eliminate fleet caps. Can anyone explain to me how this is done? Or perhaps there is a mod for this out there already? I like to play on huge maps, where the fleet caps make it very difficult to defend all of your systems and stay on the offensive, and I'd like to mod the fleet caps to make the game a bit more "epic map" friendly. Thanks!
Well at least I'm going into this patch knowing that my past save files won't work. That really caught me by surprise last time. A shame to have to end my 20+ hour game like this, but hey I gotta get some practice in for my early game strategies anyway. :D
How could you make a fleet big enough to defend all those planets though?
Cool. I'll check in at 8pm and see if you're around.
Hey! It's been a while since I hosted a game! I have some free time tomorrow(Friday) night though, and I'd love to have a crack at hosting another one, probably at 8pm eastern. If anyone is interested let me know! Also, I have Ventrilo now so I can do in-game voice chat too.
Well, maybe there could be an empire building mode and a battle zone mode, but all in all I don't mind starting off at war with everyone. Some of the missions are annoying though, and impossible to achieve.
