This should be interesting. I think this is the first time file-sharers have gone after anti-piracy groups in court. Regardless of who wins, the outcome will have a very big impact.
There are some unconfirmed reports floating about this morning claiming that The Sims 3 has been leaked. The long-awaited PC game's official launch date is June 2nd. Romanian site SoftSailor is among those reporting the supposed leak: For the moment we can’t tell for sure if the game is real as the pac
I think we should be more afraid of these communists. Even on the 0.000000000000000000000000000001% chance the numbers in the video are right, all that is required to stop them is to hit their transportation and supply infastructure. Without fuel vehicles are worthless, guns require ammunition, and people need to eat. An army that size would be crippled easily that way due to how fast it would go through supplies.</p
Nice artcile, has comments from 2D Boy and Stardock. A bit about GOO:
However, Stardock has developed a relaxed version of DRM, called Goo (no relation to World of Goo ), that it licenses to interested parties. The first company to make use of it was THQ on its Tales of Valor , the recently-released stand-alone expansion of Company of Heroes . Stardock didn't use it in its just-released Demigod but Wardell plans to include it in
What about making a 'base' version of the mod with all the non-race specfic things(ex planets/graphics) with the normal versions of the TEC, Advent and Vasari? That way you would know that the race data is correct so you can narrow the problem down. If the 'base' version works fine then you would know it is a problem with one or more of your races(just add them one at a time with mod stacking to find the one(s) with the problem). Hope you find the problem because I want to
I think the beta was for that but i assume it was thought of too lightly that NAT traversal problems could be fixed in the 1st week.... It turned out otherwise. NAT traversal was thought of much the same way you might think of a sound library or a physics library. You just plug it in, call the APIs and make sure there's enough servers. There's no other way to describe it other than breathtaking naivete.
Chuck Norris already beat the campaign. Chuck Norris can solo fleets of long range firgates with a light firgate. Chuck's Norris can colonize enemy planets, all of them, simultaneously. Instead of dealing damage, Chuck Norris puts a negative sign in front of his enemies' health. The reason the missile barrage han't had its power reduced is because Chuck Norris likes it the way it is. All of Chuck Norris's ships have anti-missile and anti-fighter point d
I thought it was an old game I would be able to get on the cheap
The base version of the Witcher sure. However the EE came out September 16th 2008. Given the difference between editions plus a free upgrade for any one that originaly bought the Witcher, I can understand keeping the price the same. Since older versions of the Witcher get a free upgrade to EE, you should try to find a base version. Checking the UK version of Amazon gets <a href="h
I would like a capital ship focused expansion. I doubt it would happen, but giving capitals upgrades like starbases would be cool. Make some of them require both a certain level capital and a certain level of capital logistics research. Having ship specific ones would be cool like: Expanded Colony module for colony capitals - starts a newly colonized planet at a cetain percent of its maximum population, Expanded Hanger: for carrier capitals, gives another squad of strikecr
Builds a starship scale D-Mat gun and uses it on every star that has an enemy fortress on one of its planets. Places own fortress inside a War Tardis and activates a Transduction barrier.
The Stardock Customer Report for 2008 has a few pages dedicated to Stardock's position on DRM. I think everyone who hasn't should download a copy and read it.

Star Wars plays the AtoC ICS card, Halo takes 200 gigatons per turbolaser shot. (Yes AtoC ICS is canon, no it doesn't make any sense, and yes sadly you must deal with it)

Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern is decent, although it is much more science fiction than fantasy. I especially like the way it deals with time travel. Also, the Dinotopia books are amazing. They have some incredible art work, all done by author himself. While story is fairly good, it is the art that is the best part. Thanks for the recomended order for the Shannara series, I have read a fe

Also, Frogboy did mention in the long status video that because Demigod used ImpulseReactor for online multiplayer, they could make updates to multiplayer without having actually updating Demigod. Any chance of using the race 'packs' you plan to split this mod into to release 2.5 quicker? You could release the 'base' mod with one or two race 'packs' and then release each race as you update them for Entrenchment. Then after you have them all done you can release the all-in-one mod option that you said you plan to have.
The reason game makers don't like piracy is because they want money for their work. Abandonware by definition gives its makers no money. The result of pirating abandonware is that there is not even a potential for loss of money by those who made it. To use the piracy = theft comparison many people use, pirating adandonware would be like someone taking something after you throw it away.
It would be fixed by having the posibility to backup the patch downloaded by Impulse, but Impulse prevents this by design. They are trying to avoid the possible spread of functional standalone patches from legit users and this takes me to the question about customers being treated as pirates. In reality Stardock do not trust on we, legal customers. They do not trust on Impulse certificated legal customers neither. If not, why not enable a "backup patch" option in Impulse and with this
If you are going to shoot for the sky, might as well toss in wanting it to have the modability of Freelancer(Some of the stuff for it is just insane compared to the base game). As long as we are wishing, toss in some FPS action as well.(at the very least it would be nice for boarding and capturing large ships)
How many turrets can a ship have, and of what sizes, and how many barrels per turret, if any? Its possible that there is a limit on weapon hardpoints per model, but I do not know the exact numbers. The "official" word is 10 firing points per weapon so 30 total, however modders have been able to go above 10 without side effects. It may be 30 global spread out however among all weapons, or it just might be a bit higher than 30.[/quote

You can install all three then do the update in one go. Or do mean that it took over 4.5 hours and you divided the time the number of disks?
