I dont know if this is possible, but i think it would make sense to be able to colonize the planet right off the bat. It should have a mostly breathable atmosphere. Water vapor isnt exactly toxic ;-) plus 80% if our O2 comes from plankton and other ocean organisms... Anyway, it would be really cool if the pop limit was REALLY low and all the tactical slots were not available till you do some research at like lvl 4 civ, or somthing. I dont know how hard it is to mod a tech to unlock orbital s

dang, cause it REALLY needs to fly like a fighter. Thats the way it moves. It is not the kind of ship that can fire in any direction. It only has one phasor bank (to my recollection), but those freaking powerful pulse phasors that can only fire forward. No offense annatar, but i do really hope that your wrong. :-( sadness... Edit: actually it has two phasor banks and 4 pulse phasor cannons

I REALLLY like the idea of leveling up all ships. In my oppinion it should be this way IN game! but since its not id love to see it here. ALSO ive been going back and brushing up on my DS9 episodes, and i totally take back my thought that the Defiant should be a "Heavy Frigate." after seeing the first episode with the Defiant in it, where they go into the Delta-Quadrant and after already taking damage blow a dominion ship to bits in one volly... yeah thats one badass little ships. ... yeah, so? every one knows the Akira has a crap ton of torpedo tubes. its designed to spray the crap out of a target. That doesn’t speak to its hull integrity or shear size? the reason i say it should be a cruiser is precisely because of the tech tree. It should need to be researched plus its just not the same weight class as the other caps. its got lotsa torpedoes, but only 6 phasor arrays. Compared to the 14 on a dominion wars Galaxy Class or 16 on a Sovereign Class. Even an Old Sc

Ok, i worked on a wish list of my own for the fed fleet, but i lost it last night. very upsetting, however it seems that isnt really wanted right now anyway. So ill give you the major tweeks i had. The Defiant, IMO, should be a "Heavy Frigate." have it replace the flag frig spot, since that wont exist anymore. The Defiant is just too small to be considered a cruiser, yes it could kick many a cruisers butt, with its weaponary. However, it simply does not have the hull strength (or s

I love how Stardock and Ironclad listen to us and want feed back. And i love posts like the "What do you want to see in 1.03?" Shows they are listening. However i would love to actually discuse the ideas listed. It its not the place to discuss them in that one thread. But we have no were designated for that. I think we should have a forum specifically devoted to Ideas. There really isnt any were currently that randome ideas for bettering the game really fits well in. Either i porpose we

So ive noticed that if you give the retreat order (or just tell your fleet leave) but the enimy (vasari) disables the engins on one of your cap ships (TEC) then the retreat order is canceled. I lost 3 cap ships last night and eventually lost the game because of it. Finally by the time it was too late i figured out why my cap ships were ignorning my continual attemts to get them to retreat. As soon as the engin disable effect wears off they find the best target and start shooting, even if they

I would love it if we were allowed to have two screens with two different locations doing things, however, i understand that that might be unfair in multiplayer. So id settle for one screen showing all the statuses and the other giving orders.

Here are some ideas i have for a pirate economy 1. Pirates should get their income from bounties, black market, and some blood money on the side cause they are organized crime after all... 2. They should have to build (pay for) their own ships. I wouldn’t mind if their ships were, on average, cheaper then a normal player. They are scoundrels after all with alot less red tape. This will aslo mean they value the worth of their ships. Suicide missions should only be attempted
I think it would be cool to be able to buy out the nuetral factions or pirates gaurding nuetral systems kind of like in Rise of Legends. I also think the minor races should be in control of the world so start out with, so you have to take them out to get the world.
I totally agree with this. It would be EASY to make the symbol that appears on this ship appear over the planet. This way it is OBVIOUS to those new comers that all the planets are already colonized, but make
My idea regarding this has to do with a potential "Militia" planetary infrastructure upgrade. This would allow the planet to deploy a small fleet of ships to slow down any invading force... This would hopefully allow your planet to hold out for a little longer while you respond with a defense fleet. The upgrade could be an expensive one to prevent it from being abused early in the game...
GREAT IDEA! I would love to see a planetary upgrade that deployed deffensive ships

First off, i realize this request is big. So i dont realistically expecti it to be in the next version. But i want to put it out there. The Pirates NEED to have thier own Economy. They need to follow rules like the rest of us. They should get their in come from the bounties we put up and from the black market. Plus maybe a little blood money on the side, since they are organized crime of course. This would make their whole existance sooo much more palatable to so many players. I love the

yes... i know thats what you want. go do a search of the forums. that idea is neither new nor likely to happen. The plea for colonizable moons has been around for a long time and some very good arguments against such things have also been around for a long time. do some research then bring something new to the table. I do like moons and id like to see them happen but rehashing the same old discusion wont make it happen. come up with something that will make the devs think, remember it is th

i like them having the armor they have. I do not want to see them nerfed, however, i think a lagit solution would be to make them slower. I have had similar problems. I have sent a fleet after them and they always seem to out run me. even my light frigs cant quite keep up. I think making them slower would go along way to helping, because then even if they do kill your planet you can at least chase them down and serve them some vengence.

Ok so i got tired of reading the same things over and over. I had the same problem at first, but then i realized i was being DUMB, placing all my gaus guns out of range of my planets. If you place 10-15 guas guns with in rang of the planet, along with a few hangers, that easily takes care of even 20+ seigers. especially if you have the gaus gun upgrades! if your current stratagy isnt working come up with one that does, that is what is sooo very AWESOME about this game, its about stratagy. remember that whatever side of the grav well you leave from is the side of the grav well youll arive at. if you want to attack from different angles have part of your fleet jump out to the right of the phase lane, and have the other part jump to the left of the phase lane. This is also good for cutting off an enimy retreat. If you see what thier angle of departure is you can have a bunch of ships waiting at the exact point they will jump in at.
And it's good to see a UCI student here... I graduated in 05 myself. I had a roommate who was majoring in Astrophysics, but he was a legitimate idiot.
Zot Zot Zot...
If not, then what about the idea of putting a colonizable moon around the Gas Giant planets that are currently not colonizable? Maybe not even colonizable, but defensable... like say you can build some sort of base or something that allows you 10-15 slots for turrents, repair stations etc. [

I personally am very happy with the game and how well thought out it is. However i am very much looking forward to seeing a story line come out of this. I have to say i am normally not much of a campaign guy but from the moment i read the lor i reallly was looking forward to playing the story out. it was a disapointment when i heard the devs were not going to have a campaign ready for release. I do TOTALLY understand why and agree with thier descision. However im still paciantly awaiting th
