Well ... I've taken a break from SINS for the past 4½ months, but I will get back into it when Entrenchment is released. I'm a very defensive player : I really need all those new defenses. You'll never see me on ICO : I'm too scared of you pros.

The game was an attempt, but really missed the boat on a few things.
That's your (very vague) personal opinion. I totally disagree with it -- an also very vague statement. "Miss the boat on a few things" : you can say that of any game ! I've recently reinstalled Shadow Magic , with patch 1.4 : no way I'm going back to an old, ugly DOS

I've played Disciples 1 & 2. I shall of course buy D3 ... but my abolute, top interest is the Elemental beta. I've restarted to play at Age of Wonders : Shadow Magic , which might somewhat come closer to Elemental than HM&M 5.

I'm currently playing Age of Wonders : Shadow Magic (2004), version 1.4 : no way I'm going back to the primitive graphics of MoM. AoW : SM is the best remake/update of MoM you can find. I hope that the designers of Elemental have had a look at it. AoW : SM is a great example to illustrate that you don't need 3D graphics à la HM&M 5 to deliver an exquisite & challenging fantasy-strategy

I've played a huge lot of HM&M 3, with all its expansions : I then tend to agree with you .. but I played too much of it. I'm burned out in what concerns H3. HM&M 5 is supposed to be inspired by H3. It is so gorgeous, if your have the videocard & the monitor to display it in its beautiful glory, that I'll play Tribes of the East again, anytime ... but I can't go back to H3. I agree with you, but I'm finished with that game : H5 spoiled me forever with its

What about Age of Wonders 2 (June 2002), and its stand-alone expansion AoW : Shadow Magic (July 2003) ? Some have said that those two games were the closest remakes/updates of Master of Magic (1995). Waiting for the Elemental beta to open, I'm currently playing Shadow Magic , with the fan-made patch 1.4 !

If so, what could be the version # of Entrenchment : 1.1# or 1.2 or 2.0 ? I won't update to 1.1, because I'll be getting Entrenchment when it will be released (after its beta), and I suppose that the micro-expansion will of course inlcude all of 1.1's features. (I'm currently playing the Demigod beta. Sins has been put on hold until Entrenchment comes out.)

Log in your Stardock/Impulse account, select the installed game, and press its corresponding uninstallation button (located to the right, at the bottom of the Impulse page).

The game, when it was released, was "incomplete" from a normal point of view ... but it was a high-quality game nonetheless. The IC/SD synergy was (and still is) a great success, especially if you consider their very rare customer-care approach. Why not, then, invest more money in such a rare, high-quality gaming series ?
I will think twice before [I] buy "stardock" games again
Ooo ... what a threat ! If you do that, the only one you will be punishing is : yourself. Stardock creates or produces great games, with no copy protection. If you wish to deprive yourself of purchasing those games ... oh, well : No soup for you ! P.S. > Wow ! I've been away for a month or so, and I was given 4 karma points. Thanks to those 3 sympathetic souls. ;

That positive karma system is somewhat of an arbitrary joke. If you read the reasons why some people obtain positive karma (by clicking on their golden +X number), it's obvious that there is a little gang of fanboy buddies, on this forum, who inflate each other's karma. OK ... I confess : I'm jealous because I'm still stuck at ZERO. :SNIFF!:

:SURPRISED: WOW !! That's interesting. It makes me realize that SINS sales will surf a second big wave when Europeans get full access to retail boxes. More reasons for Ironclad to invest, big time, in version 1.10 and an expansion.

I'm not surprised ... but some of the fanboys, on this forum, might argue : 1. That your screenshot is a fake ; 2. Or, as one of the head fanboys has said on another thread : « There are hundreds of players who are on ICO ... at other times. » It seems that IC & SD are investing a lot of time & effort boosting MP for their big 1.1 update : Building more stable deckchairs on the Titanic ?

I'm very much in favour of post editing AND deleting (like on many forums). I sometimes post when following an impulse, and it does happen that I regret my words (or composing the whole useless post in the first place). It would « clean-up » the forum if we were able to edit & delete, at will. The quote function would still guarantee that one's comments might be catched & conserved for reference.

I'm extremely happy with SINS as a SP game, and I believe they (IC & SD) should capitalize on their huge SP customer base. The (very few) experiences I've had on ICO have been very frustrating & time-consuming. As it has been said on other threads by many advocates of « singleplayer power », they should boost the SP/4X empire-building dimension of the game (what some fast & furious MP fanatics call « SimCity in Space) : a hybrid of real-time GalCiv2 and relatively slow RTS.<br/
