Galactic Civ II has 9 races I think and Warhammer 40,000 has 7.

I would like a more complete tutorial. I went through all four tutorials and I still don't feel like I know much about how to play this game. For example, I know how to build Capital Ships.

I know this may seem obvious to most of you, but its not covered in the tutorials and I can't find the button to build a Capital Ship. I know you need a Capital Ship to have a chance of winning so I haven't been playing SoaSE until I can figure this out. I've looked everywhere on the internet and haven't found out how to build a Capital Ship. Can some one help me? Please don't flame me for being a newbie. You were a newbie once too. Thanks.

If the tutorial was working I'd play now and get in on the fun. But I guess I'll have to wait for the 1.2 patch...

Playing a game without doing the tutorial would break my cardinal rule that I don't play a game until I am thorougly familiar with all the rules. I am a "game lawyer."

The cartoony graphics are necessary to appeal to teenage girls, who are the mainstay of Will Wright's previous games The Sims and The Sims 2. Will figures if the game isn't "cute" girls and women won't play. He's right. My wife is a Sims 2 fanatic, but I find the game a bit boring. The only part I like is building houses and shopping malls, but I can do without the diaper changing.

The first tutorial doesn't seem to work. I just hear an old guy's voice saying "If it's out there, I'll find it." Then enemy ships come and attack my planet. There's no tutorial explanations for anything going on. Please explain.

My mousewheel allows me to pull back from the action, but doesn't allow me to get closer. The only way to get closer to the action is to keep clicking on a ship and have the camera follow it.

The other faction had this bad-ass gun that wiped out my fleet!
