This really wasn't necessary. You can archive your install of sins through Stardock Central. Just right click sins in SDC and chose download, and archive. That way if you screw up your game files through modding you wont have to re-download to fix it. Just right click on sins in SDC, and chose restore archive.

A Homeworld MOVIE?!! You got to be fraking kidding me. Now it is official.... Hollywood has run out of original ideas :/ Yea, yea, a sins movie will have Multianna as the good girl/guy/whatever (gender identity crisis ) "Lord Schod" (with an echo) as the evil villain dressed suspiciously like ming the merciless (points to the long "polished" fingernails, and plucked eyebrows). Kosc as an omnipotent vorlon type dude, and M

Take your time. There is plenty of it, and there is no rush Just like with the original Homeworld, I am going to marvel at the community's ingenuity in creating 3rd party mod tools.

To fully appreciate the eye candy and detail that went into this game you must view it in replay mode. There you can pause, remove the UI, and icons at will. Relive your best battles without any annoying icons in the way

TBH i preferred beta 1's upkeep system. The more ships you built, the more drain on your economy. I think everyone here is in agreement that they want some kind of economic warfare implemented. Be it directly by raiding economic structures, or indirectly perhaps through espionage, or some form through the diplomacy menu. Perhaps a way to sabotage what a person has researched so they cannot use it until it is "repaired". So if someone researched refineries, and your spy managed to sabota

The whole point of the pirates is to act as a nuisance. They are supposed to harass you. Not destroy you. The pirates were pretty evil in beta 1, because your bounty determined the size of the pirate fleet. They got nerfed because of that.

It is situations like this that make me think that the finite resource system was better. If you want a decent raiding fleet look to the pirates as an example. They don't come in with just a couple of gun frigates. They come in with a whole bunch of mixed ships. They have cruisers, siege frigs, and flak frigs. Granted any decently defended world can hold pirates off, but YOU are not an AI pirate, and if the world is undefended, and you catch them off guard then that attack could be deva

Thats what Mod's are for I think we all understand now that it is too late in the development stage for any kind of major engine, or art changes, but perhaps these ideas can be implemented in future patches.

I wouldnt hold my breath on this unless there was some kind of official announcement from THQ about a new Homeworld game. If there was there is no guarantee that Relic will be the ones to develop it. I just see a bunch of wishful thinking here.

Some of you here may remember beta 1's economy model. Similar to what we have now except the roids all had finite minerals. Refinery's, and Trading stations were a must have, and we didnt have all the planetary infrastructure that we do now. The biggest difference was there was no fleet supply at all, and no cap ship crews. No hard unit caps at all. However there was an "upkeep" system. Each ship cost "x" amount of credits to maintain per second. This was similar to how newly colonized planets c

I was waiting for a dev to let the cat out of the bag. Thanks Blair. Code Herder i am not sure if you can figure out how the shaders are implemented on the models. There is a certain way it has to be done, and thats why the XSI format. I am not sure if other modeling programs. Especially 3dsmax, or Lightwave can duplicate it. If it is a simple naming convention on the textures then no worrys.

I think what he was referring to is epic multi star maps like areolan sector, or systems of war. When i play them i stay in the galaxy view quite a bit, and info cards for worlds sometimes dont display there.

I think the current system is more about "economic maintainance" rather than a rush to build refinery's before it all runs dry. Which on large maps you can accumulate a ridiculous amount of wealth from this. Your only limitations are your fleet supply. Hence the cap ship spammage. Good point is it makes for some epic battles The old system had its merits, but on small maps it would be next to impossible to keep a metal/crystal suppl

We all must remember the lore is just a brief fictional background story that may not be finished yet. So things can change at any given moment. That does not mean if new lore is written that it will be 100% consistent with the gameplay mechanics of Sins. There was a reason why the original pre-beta 1 lore page was taken down (which i am seeing quotes from it here, and in other post's). The game is still in beta, and it should be assumed the lore is in "beta" as well. Most important that the lor

That is an excellent suggestion. Right now the only way to tell if you have space available is by ether clicking on the planet, and looking at its build menu's, or mousing over over the planet for the info card that tell you how many logistics slots are left. Some extra info in the empire tree would be a great help. Especially in a zoomed out galaxy view.

Yes, it gets a little choppy at that point, but it is still playable. On single star maps i dont have this issue. This was on the systems of war map vs 3 AI. I intentionally let the AI build up, and reach tech lvl 15. As soon as i saw insurgents i summoned dark fleet, and attacked. The battle was a big stalemate in the center system. It would have made great screenshots if everything worked right EDIT: Ok, I was just checking to make

I think Annatar nailed it right there. We all expected one thing, and and this is what we got. Lets make the best of it. There are still things that can be done to the Vasari to make them more unique without changing the core gameplay. Which the dev's have said is set in stone.

When i have a huge battle (100's of ships in a grav well). The FX seem to stop displaying when zoomed in close. You cant see who is shooting at who. No explosions. No nothing. Just ships vanishing when they are destroyed. I would send a save game, dump, or replay, but the game freezes when you end it. Making me have to use the task manager to exit. This seems to happen on very large games so i am wondering if its the game scaling down, or disabling the FX to speed it up. The game lockin
