Has anyone stopped to think that maybe we haven't seen all of the lore yet? All we are going by now is a BRIEF background writeup on a web page. There may be some things we haven't seen yet that will explain this whole situation much better. I'm not trying to be rude, but this whole mess of topics about the Vasari not being uber, and not living up to the lore is getting very old, and beaten to death. The dev's are well aware of what people think about the Vasari.

On random maps with more than 1 star this happens sometimes. Especially if worlds in 1 star system are very close to the next star system. It is a known issue.

Which pretty much answers the question of types of weapons that can be used for what ship types. Which is pretty much anything your imagination can make up. (Now looks into making crew members hanging out portholes with baseball bats)

I wouldn't bring the Phase Gate that low. I think a tier 5 research should be fine for the PG. Which is the same tier as the refinery. 5 civilian research labs are doable in the average small to medium game. A tier 9 speed increase for the PG isn't a bad idea. Summon Dark Fleet should cost you. Right now it sucks away all of your fleet supply, but that doesn't matter. It should not start out in autocast. Plus it should cost something in metal/crystal to send the signal (something has to

It is already known that ship vs ship Vasari slightly outmatch TEC. Though your suggestion does hold merit, and is worth a try. I have a better suggestion No flagships, No pir8's, Max tech level of 3 (both empire, and military) 1 v 1 Vasari vs TEC. Capture, and build on only 3 planets. See who can field the better fleets the fastest.

Late game advantage definetly goes to the Vasari. Dark Fleet is a game ender, and will rarely if ever be used in a Multiplayer game. Much like Insurgency. The early game it is TEC that is overpowered. Due to its economic, and production advantage. Vasari do have more strike craft, but they dont seem much more effective than TEC's that i noticed.

1st, I was pleasantly surprised to see the introduction of a long awaited enemy the Vasari. Finally some Alien butt to kick. When i saw the Vasari ships for the 1st time being a modeler myself i had to admire the artwork, and effort that went into creating those models. They are brilliantly done. Along with the new Kol Battleship. Excellent work. After a few games that surprise slowly started to deteriorated into disappointment. While i was still winning in AI skirmishes, Playing as a V

Considering it is an "energy wave" weapon i suppose that was the best effect they could think up for it. We still have yet to see the Advents "hands of doom" fighter push effect in action (effect is in the files, but not used in game yet). If it is just a set of hands that come out, and swat fighters like a fly swatter not only am i gonna laugh my ass off, because of the cheeze factor, but that will prolly be the motivation i need to do my 1st effects mod... because of the cheeze factor. I still

It could be worse.... The Vasari could be running away from that purple singing dinosaur.. errr,.. Who what it?.. Oh yea, BARNEY!

Fine, we'll keep the Vasari the way they are now, and watch how many players drop, because they cant figure out how to win with them, or survive long enough to get the tech needed for the "skills" to win. Right now in an evenly matched fight the Vasari will lose to TEC. Forget about the damn lore. Forget about the numbers. This is including using all the ability's you have at level 3 which is about as far the average Vasari player will get before he gets wiped off the map.

Yup, you need to lose that 6200. I am sure they still sell AGP gf-6600's-7xxx's cheap. I run sins on an AGP slot gf-6600gt with no issues. You are running a p4 cpu so your MB should have at least an AGP slot on it. If it doesn't you may want to consider a new system. Im sure having 2 different types of ram isn't helping matters much. I use only matched sets (which you can get cheaply).

A level 15 Vasari can dominate easily. Especially if their cap ships achieve above level 6. The problem is the Vasari dont last long enough to get that high as an AI. As a human player it is doable, but very difficult. Forget numbers for a second, and look at the overall picture. I will repeat what i said in another thread about an AI Vasari. They suck vs pirates in the early game, and in general. The pirates will come in, and wipe out a Vasari world. AI vasari will keep trying to retake it, and

Pretty much what they said. Better AI is in work hopefully, but to truly test your fleets you need to go up against a human opponent. I agree with you that against the AI all you really need is the cap ships. Sometimes the AI will surprise you, but that is rare. The Scout is cheap, and quick to build so if it gets toasted just build more of them, or build a swarm, and have then all auto explore. Like Kosc said use hold position to keep them from auto engaging. You cant plan attacks, or

If it were any other game this would be a feature. I thought the impulsing without phase jumping was fixed? Apparently not, because the same thing happened to me in several MP games on the areolan (spelling) sector map. My frigs were rallying to my main fleet, but decided to take the "long scenic route".

The dev's have stated many times that having animated turrets will cause unacceptable performance hits. Besides most people play zoomed far enough to where you wouldnt notice any animations anyway. This is a dead issue. It aint gonna happen

I can see this is gonna get ugly. After playing around some more as TEC, and the Vasari I have to agree with schod here. Vasari. My take on them now is that they are all about hit, and run. Stealth, and subterfuge. Watching them as AI is a bad example, because the AI is pretty pathetic right now. However "IF" they were the badass OMGWTFBBQPWN that everyone believed they were, then why would pirates kick their ass? Not just once, but in damn near every comp stomp game i played. Yet the

Welcome to sins Its not a bug its intentional. Capitol ships level up as they gain experience, or if you purchase levels. The Kol battleship cant use strike craft until it achieves level 3. It cant use some other ability's until level 6. In a flagship game, the 1st capitol ship you build is free, and becomes your flagship. It starts out automatically at level 3. All new capitol ships built afterwards will start o
