The version i made when Rebellion first came out pretty much focused only on the textures. There really wasn't much else wrong with Rebellion at the time except for the bad advent rebel titan mesh. Which got fixed. Stardock was really on top of things, and didn't let much get through as far as errors, and what little that did get through was fixed by the time the DLC's were released. Overall the textures in Rebellion are as optimized as they can get. There are some texture

Understandable. Since Rebellion, and the DLC's are the most current version of Sins, It is pretty damn good, and it no longer needs TSOP. People would play Trinity more for nostalgia sake. Like i do. You can't disable Titans, Starbases, Mines, or Platform Upgrades in Rebellion. But you can play Original Sins which has none of that, or Entrenchment which has no Titans. Diplomacy is not really that much different from Entrenchment IMO. Though i still play it too. However

TBH i am amazed you pulled off "legit" cloaking to begin with! The best i could hope for in the beginning was a bad "effect", and invulnerability until the effect ceased. It meant nothing because you can still see the ships on the empire tree, and on the map. You still can see the ship on the empire tree, but the way it is now adds to the suspense, because you cant see the ship itself on the map. Its perfect if you think about it. You know the ships are there, but you just cant find them.

What Psy said. Not enough modelers. Not enough free time. Burnt out. The old trekmods, and SFC/BC stuff was intended to be just placeholders until we could build our own sins specific meshes. The Ambassador, and Regula/SB 375 stations were the only meshes i built specifically for this mod. All my other stuff was made for HW/SFC mods that were converted over. One thing that i wish Sins was capable of was animated textures on the ship meshes themselves (for things like animated

Yes, I am necro-ing my own topic.. I am doing so to ask a simple question... How many of us still play Trinity? More specifically Entrenchment, and Original Sins? It is no big secret that Rebellion has made Trinity pretty much obsolete. Rebellion has also made TSOP obsolete, because the majority of issues we found in Trinity were fixed, and optimized by Stardock in Rebellion. However. that doesn't stop me from taking trips down memory lane, and i fire up Original S

Nah the Federation doesn't bomb planets at all... The first vid is to provide perspective. Next are examples of where a planet was bombed (though ONLY Kirk would have a torpedo launched on himself!). There are more examples of where a federation starship "bombed" a planet. In a perfect universe the feds wouldn't have t

LOL! Fiction can be fun.. When it came to modding the game i was pretty brave (lost count on how many time i "broke it") However, When it comes to this laptop being the ONLY PC i have, and having very little funds to replace it. I tend to show just a "little" more restraint. I am not a big fan of bar-b-qued CPU's, and toasty GPU's ;)

If you computer has no problems running sins, then you shouldn't have a problem running SoA 2. Your OS has nothing to do with how a mod runs. It has everything to do on how the game itself runs... I tested Sins, and the mod with 8.1 a while ago, and Windows 8.1 has no issues running Sins, or the mod that i can see. With the exception of the 32 bit 2 gig issue. Which that has always been there. I am assuming when Windows 10 arrives it will be the same thing. Since it seems from my point of

Yes, and it was the very same cube in both episodes. The Scout Cube is something we conjured up to separate it from the standard cube seen in First Contact (Do not confuse it with the crashed borg scout ship that carried Hue). We just haven't made a separate model to represent the Q Who/BOBW cube yet. So the first contact cube model is used as a placeholder.

IMO the case function trumps "looks". I would rather have the old school "beige" case as long as it supports all the state of the art tech (and cooling fans) i can put inside of it. I never went alienware because i more than likely can build a better system myself far cheaper.

The Dominion should be "on par" with the federation being that early in the first dominion war the feds were quite literally getting their asses handed to them. Until the feds adapted, and upgraded their ships. It was a colossal strategic failure on the part of the Dominion to allow the wormhole to be recaptured by the feds. If the Dominion held the wormhole then they surely would have won the war.

As i said in another post... If only these "groups" (doesn't matter which side you are on) actually "believed" in the philosophy in which they claim they are a part of. GamerGate for the most part has kept the debate one of the most civilized debates i have ever seen. Which that is their goal. They refuse to bring themselves to the level of "If you do not agree with me. Then i will unleash vile, and abusive language, and pull out the racist/sexist/homophobe, etc. etc. card

I chose the music in the early days of the mod to be trekish, but more "dark" for the federation being as they were at WAR. It is kind of hard to be bright, cheerful, and bubbly like the root beer Quark so fondly compares to the Federation if you are at freaking WAR, and enemy's beset you on all fronts, and this is before the Borg show up..... The TMP soundtrack (Mainly the V'ger themes) fit that to a tee. For the other factions i wanted something similar, but recognizable. I

How do they get these numbers? People sell them to whoever wants to buy them (the "do not call" list is a joke). Same with email addresses. They are bought and sold to the highest bidder. Obviously people are falling for this crap, because it keeps on happening. If everyone would go out of their way to educate themselves about these kinds of scams i bet we would see far fewer incidents, and a lot less spam in our emails. Call me paranoid, but if my Caller ID come

Not bad overall. Simple, Easy to learn, Smooth game play, and the graphics are decent enough. Yea the ship models leave more to be desired (Maybe because they are targeting this game for broad range of systems). Modding can fix that problem easily. It can use a full 360 degree free camera that can zoom in really close to the ships (their idea of "free camera" only zooms, and rotates, but the camera angle is fixed). You cant select, and focus on the aircraft ether. I guess beca

What scares me is what could this be capable of if someone got a hold of this with a more "sinister" or malicious intent? (Don't say its not possible). We have enough problems with Pirates, Hackers, and their "super virus's", and malware. Imagine intelligent learning hardware, and software unleashed capable of bypassing, and overriding any safety, firewall, encryption short of "pulling the plug".... Basically Cylon [e digicons]:cylon:[/e] Get your EMP weapons ready, and get rea

Like i said the importer is kind of "vague". I never tried to use it for anything other than importing vanilla sins meshes. I never tried to do multiple materials. It expects to import sins meshes with the materials "as is" in vanilla sins. with just one material for the 3 standard textures -cl, -da and -nm. XSI Mod tool shouldn't be crashing. It ran fine for me on both windows 7, and 8. I would be checking your system out to see if your drivers, and whatnot are up to date. There

My laptop is 2 years old, but it wasnt really "top of the line" from the get go. It is now becoming hard to play newer games. My last rig was a 3 year old i5 quad core 3 gig system with 6 gigs of ram, and a gforce 250gt 2 gig video card. It is still running. I just dont have it any more. It was handed down to my son. Otherwise i probably would still be using it, and upgrading it. The funny thing is my laptop has almost exactly the same specs as my old desktop. Except a has crappy inte

Well i cant ram squat until i get a dx 11+ rig built. But when i do i intend to test my ramming skills on the Vanduul. Since it seems that is their favorite tactic. I would like to see their ugly mugs (Through the glass of their own cockpit) when their own tactics are used against them. On their paper thin ships... Muahahahaha!!

I am just assuming, but it is possible that the version of max you are using is too "new". This plugin was first made in 2008. Not long after Sins was released. I use 3dsmax version 2010, and i have no issues with the plugin. However i just used the plugin to import sins meshes to export them into other programs. Like the NanoFX Evolved model viewer. Version 2012 may have changed something to cause the problem you are having, and disable some of the plugins functions. The plugin does

LOL! Nope, Ramming is for people (like me) with money to burn, and murder on their mind. [e digicons]}:)[/e] You cant "ram" in EVE. Well you can but it doesn't cause any damage, and its not as fun.
