Starbase spam IMO does not help the late game lag issue either. The ability to build a Starbase at damn near every gravity well is kind of ridiculous. Especially when a fully upgraded advent starbase's poly count is well over 12,000 tri's. Sins can handle high poly units very well. However, if you include that starbase (as many as you can spam). Plus all the other factions units. Plus the particles. Plus "everything else on the map". A single core of your CPU, and 32 bit. Something is

This is not a new issue. We have been dealing with this for a long time. Pretty much since day one. No there is no optimization mod for Rebellion. There really is no need for an optimization mod, because at maximum settings Rebellion doesn't use more than 1.7 gigs of ram (This is including the two DLC expansions). The dev's worked on reducing the texture footprints as much as possible, and fixed many glaring issues that were found during the creation of the Optimization Projec

Here ya go. SotGE test The "black holes" seem to happen mostly around terran planets. Map is Chiss Ascendency, but the random black holes happen on any map i chose. I'll test the game later on dev.exe, and see what i can find. If anything at all. For all i know it could be my laptops intel gpu causing the problem. However it runs Vanilla Trinity, and Rebellion flawlessly on max settings. Plus S

I unzipped all contents into the mod directory, I checked the LAA flag, Then enabled the mod using the enabled mod text just as stated in the readme. How do i know if LAA is working or not? I didn't see any issues with the ship textures with the exception of the glowing MC-40 which you already fixed in house. I built everything, and ran a pretty long game. No dumps. All ship textures seem to be loading fine. Nor were there any particle issues that i noticed. Just the random missin

I knew it would be an easy fix. I have done the same thing, and overlooked a material, or forgot to add the alpha channel in the -da texture. Then when i test it i am like WTF?!! Sometimes photoshop makes an all white alpha channel if you forget to add one yourself. You are asking a sins modding pioneer if he installed a mod correctly? LOL! The answer would be Yes. I did use LAA (though i dread using it). I installed it in accordance to the readme's instructions. However, I will r

Nah lets give Sinperium the false sense of security... I just want to see his face (through the glass of his cockpit) as i ram his ship screaming SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

I agree. It's better to push it back, and be sure you got it right than to rush it out the door. I've seen too much fail because it was rushed. What i've seen so far is most impressive. Especially for a single person developing this.
Don't stress... um... Stress. What's the time frame looking like?
Several months at the very least. Need to save up at least a grand to get a "decent" setup. My laptop "was" umm "smoking" when i first got it. Now its smoking because of overload lol. Basically its not DX-11 capable, and i cant upgrade the gpu. Nor can i toss it out a window (as tempting as it may be),

Though i cant run the game (yet), i do not regret my investment. I was pretty sure i met the specs. I just didn't know about the most recent update that killed everything DX10, and under. My laptop obviously doesn't cut it any more. I'm gonna need at least a grand to build a decent rig (this includes the monitor, and other peripherals like keyboard, mouse, and speakers). I have been checking out newegg.com, and i think i can build something relatively cost effective. That

Yea im not too thrilled about it ether. I wont be picking too many fights with this wreck, but was too cash strapped to get anything better. I view it like an old nissan hardbody pickup truck.. drive it, and beat the hell out of it until it dies. Learn the mechanics... explore what i can.. if it can fight for what its worth all the better. GRRRRRRRRRR still downloading! EDIT: DAMMIT!! The game wont work on my laptop!!

Finally made my pledge, and bought the cheap ass aurora (marquis to get beta access) to start out with. gonna get a feel for it before i commit to getting a better ship, or use this one as a battering ram. Though i am afraid my laptop even though it meets all the min specs except the ram (i only have 6 gigs). I have a feeling its gonna slide show. We'll see when its done downloading.

If you are talking from a "graphical" point of view, I will use the original Homeworld as an example. When the game was first released back in 1999 the graphics were awesome, because that was pretty much the best anyone could do with the hardware of the era. There was no comparison back then. HW was the best. Back then most systems were running Pentium II's, and 1st gen AMD Athlons that basically broke the 1 ghz barrier the year before. 1 gig of ram, and a 256 meg

There is an old saying.. You are your own worst enemy. Keep your damn mouth SHUT!. The OP speaks truth. The younger generation doesn't seem to give a damn about others privacy, or confidentiality any more. Especially on social media. If you don't want "everyone" to know something that is your own personal business. Basically don't say anything at all. Yes it is sad.

Nice one JJ... I can see an interview with him. Nooooooooo, There is no falcon in EP VII ( As Orci goes Cough Cough BULLSHIT!).. As we see it being constructed plain as day in the background :/ I am kinda glad they are going "old school" instead of relying on CGI effects. However all of that eye candy don't matter if the story sucks (into darkness).

That only concludes that sins still will not go over 2 gigs. These "patches" may give sins the 2 gigs of "room" it needs in your system, but they will not force sins to use more than what is hardcoded into it. Kind of like trying to force a square peg into a round hole. Other games like the X3 series were patched by the developers over time to use more than 2 gigs of ram. I believe like how it was explained before by making it use more than one process. TBH I am not exactly sure how t
