I don't know if this is the right place to ask, if not I apologize. Do the Forge tools work for Rebellion? On the Downloads page, it says it was updated for Entrenchment, but I do not know if it works for Rebellion.

I have no interest in competitive gaming, I have more than enough competition throughout the day. I like to play casually, take my time, goof around mostly, and maybe decimate the enemy... or not. But regardless, there's nobody else depending on me to play the game their way, there's nobody to let down because I play for fun as opposed to "win at all costs". That goes for cooperative games as well. Just let me be... Away from irritating colleagues, demanding significant others, even obnoxious
While I don;t have much to say about the balancing or the multi-player issues, since I play only single player games, I find myself easily bored with the game. I know many people will say to play online, against real players, it's more challenging, blah blah blah... I'm not an online player... But I do find the 4x elements sorely lacking. I feel no personal attachment to my "empire" whatsoever... I move from planet to planet, colonizing, building orbital structures, move on... It does
I must be the only person out there that really doesn't care about stats, achievements, and ranks. They're nice for some people, yes, but I do hope they're truly optional. I hope Stardock/GPG doesn't come up with one of those idiotic ideas to tie unlockable items to ranks or stats like what's done in the Battlefield series or even in Crysis. I absolutely DESPISE having game elements locked away until I give x amount of my life away to the game.
You are not alone my friend. We are l
So am I correct in assuming that this Demigod is yet another game specifically targetted and made for multiplayer? That's the impression I get with this whole "team based action" line appearing multiple times... It does say Human or Computer AI, but as we've seen, computer AI is always lacking... Which is a real shame since I detest multiplayer...
I have been thinking this over to myself quite a bit... All the games I've played thus far, I don't seem to have any real emotional connection to my "empire"... I build a plant, max it out on slots and population, move on and do the same thing to the next planet although typically with different structures... but I don't feel like it's an "empire", no matter how much I try to pretend...
I too would like to see the numbers. As I play, and colonize and build up new planets, and keep an eye on my fleets, I'm always forgetting how many of each I've built, and where I've built them...
While I'm glad to see the tech tree published online (it'll help fill my lunch hour now), I'd like to see some writeups on the individual techs themselves, as to what to expect from it. And how to make best use of the technology it gains, etc...
?bump? BTW, as an addendum, I mean something else than the Empire Tree... I think my question makes sense... Anyone?
Something similiar, but not quite the same is I don't quite get the whole pinned/unpinned thing... What is it pinning objects is supposed to accomplish? Whenever I press the toggle, I see little pins on the icons on ships in the empire tree, but I don't see anything else different, and it doesn't appear to behave any differently...
Is there a way, either a screen or key, that will enable you to see your empire at a glance? Meaning, a breakdown of how many military labs you've built (and where), how many civi labs (and where), how many trade ports (and where), etc...?
I mentioned this in another thread, but it (the thread) died away with only 1 response, so I'd like to add something here as well... When I click through my ships/buildings and it says I don't have the required research to build something, I'd like the info card to tell me what research I need in order to build this item in the item's infocard. Some of them appear to have this info, but not all of them. Personally I feel the game gives lots of great info, but not everything ne
There was an RTS game from Sunflowers (developers of the Anno economic simulation games) called ParaWorld that had something like the Empire Tree... They called it the Army Controller, listing each units and their levels in a collapsible tree format. Granted, there were no worlds, but it sure did make managing armies and units way easier.
Eh, just play online. Humans are far more interesting to argue with than AI giving you impossible missions.
Meh, I don't want to play online, I have never wanted to, and I most likely never will want to. In any game I play. I deal with enough people during the day at work, that the last thing I want to do when trying to re
In my opinion, the 4X is weak. Far more weak than I hoped. Diplomacy, as it stands currently is just plain silly. Trade routes are necessary, but there's no real control over trade at all. No specific trade goods, no levels of which items to make available, no embargos, etc... In fact, other than building a trade port, there's no control over trade at all. Civilization management is practically non-existant. Oh sure there are techs to research to upgrade your planets increasing tax revenu
This game is being marketed as a RTS-4X hybrid, but without some kind of campaign, it initially feels more like a straight-up RTS to me. Key word there is "initially" as I've only had the game for I've read the threads on the Siege Frigate AI Rush/Spam and the Pirate threads, and have been paying a whole lot of attention to them. On a whole, the answer to both these quandries it to quickly build defenses and an offensive fleet, hunt them down, and kill them.
I certainly understand each viewpoint, the desire for an interactive story as well as the open sandbox. For me though, a campaign is something totally different than just an interactive story. It's an interactive tutorial, exposing various gameplay elements over time, assisting with the learning of how the game works, how the battles should flow, where you should concentrate your efforts. Currently the available tuturials don't flow, they take an individual aspect of the game, and tell you ab
Personally, I don't much care for suggestion #1, sorry, just my preference. But your second and third suggestions appeal to me. I also have another suggestion or reccommendation, regarding info cards displayed while hovering over build buttons, regardless if ships or buildings. If a given technology hasn't been researched in order to build something, list in that building's/ship's info card which technology is required. There's been several time I'll hover over something in
Hello, I am also considering of buying Sins. I like space-kind of games and RTS but the problem with me is that I don't go multiplayer with them, only SP. I believe that this game is all about MP? Is it worth getting it for singleplayer experiance only? Thank you for any answers. Cheers
Absolutely. I only play SP, have zero interest in MP capabilities, and this game is still freaking awesome...
I originally pre-ordered the game just before beta 1 came out, and the release date had been pushed back to Feb 2008. I decided I didn't have the patinece to participate in beta that long, so canceled my pre-order. I then re-pre-ordered it right at the cutoff of beta 4.
As I watched this video, I kept thinking back to the thread entitled "Why don't the ships move during combat". This video certainly points out the static feel to the combat, and certainly begs for moving ships... Just my $0.02...
I'm jut kinda curious as to how many people won't be playing multiplayer in SINS? As for myself, I'm not a multiplayer sort of person, I prefer playing alone (yeah, I'm a bit anti-social...) How many others will play strictly singleplayer?
I have no problems with paying an additional media fee, I only purchased using tokens because the Dec 3rd cutoff for the beta had passed, and I wanted to download the beta. Of course, at the time, the only way to do so was to use tokens. Wasn't my optimal choice, but it allowed me to download and play the beta 4...
So since I ordered (pre-ordered) my game via TotalGaming.net using tokens, does that mean I won't get a boxed version nor any of the CE goodies? And if not, how can I rectify this? Gotta have the boxed version... just gotta... :)
I'm curious tho, why all this new stuff doesn;t have to be tested as well...
