Planets themselves have nothing to do with the number of ships - it's all done through the fleet logistics research. Capital ships do need the additional crews research, but sounds like you got that now :)

I'm guessing it doesn't do that without the mod? It's very unusual that it would freeze completely, almost as if it's trying to initialize the engine with your mod and can't do it. Did you put in any insanely high numbers? But even then, it should just do a minidump, not freeze.. Try going back to just the one ship, I guess, and see if it still does it.

This is a known bug, so no need to send in your save :) To fix it, before you click start on the load game screen, go into the Game Options again and accept them. The settings you chose will be there correctly, just need to be accepted again.

Okay, so that file is the cause of all your problems :P Replace it with the gameplay.constants from the GameInfo folder in the Sins install, then all your dumps and instant losses won't happen anymore. 1.03 changed gameplay mechanics that are stored in gameplay.constants, so using an old file that the game doesn't know how to read anymore is bad :P

Most things can't be changed, but the gameplay.constants contains some weighting for how the AI shifts its focus for the different personalities.

You must be using the 1.02 gameplay.constants file, which is known to cause this problem if you have a mod set to "enable on load". Make sure you're using the updated 1.03 file, which you can get from your game folder (it's already in text), or the 1.03 reference data in the downloads :)

Download the 1.03 mod stuff from the Downloads section on the site, it has everything in text format for you to edit :) Sorry, I should've mentioned it. Specifically, you'll want the "1.03 Reference Data" listed under Beta Forge Tools.

Stardock/Ironclad were not able to get a European publisher for the game (none of them felt the German RTS market would support it, so that was the deal breaker pretty much). You still have the option of ordering it directly from Stardock: - You can get Download Only version, or Download + Box shipped overseas. - You'll be charged the USD price, which means you basically get the game for a steal - You'll also get the Collector's Edition this way, with some extra goodies

Did you have any capital ships in the fight? One of them (I think the Revelation, the one that has Hysteria, because I don't remember the exact name of the ability I'm talking about) has an ability to reduce the cooldown of abilities of friendly ships, and plays a short sort of metallic sound effect.

Well, you'd make your own ;) The only thing you'd need to do is open the file that has all the strings in Notepad, and change the AI names the game picks from to whatever you like. It'd literally take you a few minutes :P
