I do find it rather funny and amusing on the new stance with sharing Rebellion keys with Steam. Considering this gem of a thread: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/344467 Where Frogboy was pitching how awesome it would be for digital games to be "vendor neutral" to put the power back into the hands of the players and prevent scenarios where a vendor goes out of business, since the player could just download fr

For what it's worth, I didn't like Morrowind or Oblivion (owned both, but the games just didn't pull me in). However, I'm enjoying Skyrim immensely. I can't really put my finger on any single thing, but it's a combination of graphics, less stupid leveling system, and some nice quality of life improvements. Plus I do like how they did the dragons, with learning their language and absorbing souls and such.

As has been explained probably a hundred times by now in various threads, Paypal can't be used to preorder because Paypal needs to charge immediately, but SD does not charge until they have something to give you. That's why Paypal can't be used until they actually start charging pre-orders - this will be when the beta goes live.

I bought SotS2 on day 1, but waiting a month or so until it stabilizes. I'm keeping track of the patches and will play it when the emergency patches stop rolling in and the dust settles. I'm kinda past the time where I get mad/frustrated about this at this point.. it wasn't a full $60 priced game, and from their previous release I know it's going to be supported so eh. Sucks, but if they fix it, that's what I care about.

Glad we went for originality points. Sure do hope IC puts a bit more thought into their Titans.[/quote] I think you should be able to combine all of them into a super-Voltron, tbh.

I think you should get started on that right away, Thoumsin. We'll expect your self-learning AI to be presentable in a couple months.

I always find it funny how a lot of people complain that the AI doesn't run away like it should and loses all its ships, and then a lot of other people complain that the AI runs away too much. :P

The flashy effects mod you saw is probably Bailknight's. There were a couple, but Bailknight's is the most popular, and it has been incorporated into a bunch of other mods. It does have a thread on this forum somewhere.. the original creator (Bailknight) hasn't been around for a long time, so these days various people pick it up and update it for any patches if necessary. Volumetric Explosions is another good graphical mod.

Dust 514 gets lots of originality points as well, an MMOFPS that ties into an MMO on the PC, which is running on the same server, and Dust players can join the same EVE corporations and chat in the same voice channels and chat channels, and there's true links between the game. In one dev presentation, the guy said they already have a system where a Dust player can request an orbital strike, which is then executed by an EVE player.

Look on the bright side, Greg. For Sins 2 they will pretty much have to create a new engine because the tech on this one is so old and they're running into road blocks everywhere. :)

Grats man! I really wish I had a lot of time to devote to SC2. I end up watching a lot more of it than actually playing :P It's an awesome game to be sure :)

I finished it, and I agree, it's very sweet. I consider it better than Dragon Age 2 in every way possible. It doesn't have party-based combat, but it was implemented better in DA1 anyway. My only complaint about Witcher 2, oddly enough, is that it might have a little too much story. Being based on books, there's a well established "universe".. but that doesn't translate as well to a game, and you end up hearing names of places, kings, sorcerers, and others that are never expla

Really though, looking at Amazon's listing for Windows 7, all versions are discounted a bit, not just the family 3-pack upgrade box :)
