Yep, launch the game, get past the menu, new game (solo), a few minutes into the game (which is running fine up to that point) a kick to the desktop, no messages or anything. And SoaSE is the last thing installed on my comp. How do I check the event logs?

The problem is fairly simple, the game crashes to Desktop after a few minutes, no error messages or anything, and the game was running fine up to the crash. Then it just closes and I'm staring at my desktop. To make matters wierder, the game's been running fine for the past 2 days, I've had 1 crash, but that's all. Now every game I start I get the same thing, few minutes into the game and then a crash. I'm running a 2.40 GHz Intel Celeron, 1 GB RAM, ATI Radeon 9200 128 MB, Wind

And the only wormhole on the map is under my control and leads to a totally different star system. Well, I must have been paying even less attention than I thought. Though a warning "There's a big freaking fleet passing through your systems!" would be nice :p<b
Use colony frigates to capture the existing metal extractors. EDIT: To be precise, I've found neutral extractors in asteroid belts that I then captured and they provided income. Not sure if they are present in all asteroid belts since I'm pretty new to the game myself.
I've started playing SoaSE and I must say I'm overall impressed with the game. But I'm still learning the ropes and I have a few questions: 1. Can ships bypass jump lanes? If yes, does the AI take advantage of this? I've had huge enemy fleets showing up on my inner worlds while I control the only chokepoint planet that allows access (and keep a huge fleet there). It is possible they ran the blockade while I wasn't looking, but I'd spot them eventually since I have a fair number of scout
