Well, I have only really started, and I dont have enough cash (currentlly, 90k) for the schools, so I am taking starter courses at a junior college. I think it would be nice as well, especially if there is away through ship construction and structures that those wrecks can be salvaged into the resources from which they were built. This would not only help by way of cutting down on what would be rendered, but if there is a heavily contested region of space, it would be visibly evident and additionally battlefield obstacles.

Inert - It wouldnt be all that difficult my man, atleast not anymore diffiult then anything else( mind I myself have no "official" balanceing experience), what you would do is something similar to what MOOII did, that being give a stock option page for the race bonuses for everyone and a few tech tree options in game that once you go down one path, you begin to lose options for the other paths. Well, I am taking classes to become a game designer, and I was just wondering if anyone else out there was doing the same. I don't mean people that if asked off hte street to come in and make they would, but those that are actually trying to push there lives forward following Game Design as career path. No Probs mate, I can understand your point, but dont you think that the game should be made playable without having to slow it down at all? The number one reason I stopped play Imerpium Galactica II was the fact that it took me 45min to look at my 40* planets and make sure I had them the way I wanted them. Now partly, I chalk some of that up to bad AI, and partly to me being a nit picker about my stuff, but still even 15min to check all planets and the like are insane. I guess my point

Wraith, if you were responding to me, I was trying to ask, how will each side be unique. What i mean is if there are three TEC players, will the only way you will know which is which is by what color and name they have? Will those three TEC player be identical in every way except where they are in the game, what they have in terms of territory and tech, and how they play? How will you allow for a degree of Uniqueness amongest the different Factions, or will they all be the same as the other members of the same faction? ie all TEC are the same, all advent and vasari are just like other advent and vasari.

as for the first part, I prolyl did not explain well( me trying ot be shorter on the posts). Let me try again. The first stage would be the general run of hte mills stuff that absolutally each race gets. they would be more of a jumble then defined paths. As certain techs are researched the second tier of tech starts to become availible. This is the stuff where( though techology) you begin to define your Factions style. Corret Hidden, this isnt an RTS I though I did say that, I am just saying that changing the game speed is an unacceptible way to give a shorter or longer game. Shorter Games - Production and Research times reduced for faster offline->online status, in some cases, faster ship speeds, small maps could help as you said before. What are the different formations you cna set? Will you be allowed to create custom 3d formations out side of a MP match and then use them in game? The next step to RTS games are importeted designs, least I think so. What will the level of badge/color customization be? Hello All, I being what I am, have many many questions, given the length of my posts to date, can go on at some legnth at that. I will attempt to keep these shorter.
