You idea of a cargo depot was similar to a question I had, posted it in the wrong format though it probably got over looked. I was wondering if the resource collection was going ot be similar to that of just about every game that has it( invisible resources), or will it be Physical resources? This means if once a resource is collected, will it jsut be a number to indicate how much a given player has of that resource or will it still be something physically in the world? <br

He is a "witch hunter" in the "Empire" section of "armies of war." It looks like a game that will be everything World of Warcraft should have been. If posible, plz ask(when adressing a screenshot of a gameplay element) if the elements in the shot are completed, place holders, or a work in progress; before you start ripping on something based on what it looks like. This is still before the beta has come up. I do agree on the concept of infinite harvesting places, which are undepleteable (harvesting might slow after a while, but shouldn't stop) nothing is more annoying then players who are incapable of killing eachother due to resource lack and defences. The only part I disagree with is "Defenses" I love them. One thing I thought of that may be part of my misunderstanding, are the resources going to be physical ones or will they be numbers on a sheet? What I mean, is in every RTS I have played with a very few exceptions, once a resource is harvested/mined/what-have-you, it is no longer in the game other then in number. If the devs allow for raiding of a resource, they have the ability be that when an enemy players hits your hut or whatever, it pulls "X" quantity of that resource from your st

Most of the stuff was confusing but I think I got some. Keep in mind, I am not familiar at all with previous Stardock games, so I can't guesstimate based on their previous works. I knew that you would say something about my "1)" thing, I know all that, was trying to cut down on my length. but dont forget, there are offensive counter messures(sp) to your defensive. I have already forgotten what I wrote in the last post, so here is my revised view. If these are true: 1) 1-2 generated resources per planet. 2) 3 unigue resources and one generic(credits) 3) many planets in which to colonize. then a market monopolization is not possible, at least the way I believe you( and admittedly I) would wish it to be. Least take the 50 planets for a 5 person game. If that is the case, then 10 planets per player. Each planet has a 2 in 3

Well, reading(kinda, brain is shutting down) what you've put down was interesting in a way. A lot of waht you said is circumstantial, and most of what I said left a lot of room for some one to poke holes. I think we are thinking of some this in different ways. A few things I noticed. A need for formations - Unfortunatly most formations in space are unrealistic. Two reasons for this. 1) Real space being vast and the like. Once two races get to the point when they would fight, they would have weapons with such range that formations would mean neraly nothing. I am all for automation, well except when it comes to the most important resource of all, my enemies ships after I scale them down a bit into more managable peices, they provide a very effective recource indeed.
