As far as a ship cap goes it hasn't been said there will( atleast to my knowledge) from what I understand based on what Schematicsninja says, is that there will be a soft cap ie the line where the ships operations cost crossess with the your empires support abilities( does your empire have enough gold to support the number of ships you have/are creating).
And they are all PoS from what I have seen. You should probably stop recommending them, or bring them up for discussion.
The Cloaks of ships shouldnt be short at all they should be availible for the whole game to be used. Only when they engage in combat should they decloak ofra small period of time. - The disadvantage to cloaking, should be that it cannot be use to phase jump. ie they can only use they when traveling and out of combat. - A tech could later be used to allow ships to cloak during phased jump space. - When cloaked ships should travel a bit slower. - A tech could be researched to
I must agree with Multianna on this that it will depend on the game. This if for the simple reason that races will develop a certain doctrine regarding fleet load outs. By this I mean fleets centered around Battleships and fleets centeared around carriers and/or something else not yet discovered. Space being HUGE, it is utterly possible that a race will have evolved similarly to us and based their fleet around Battleships with effective fighter cover. Given the distance in space to travel fr
I guess, I did jump on a little late, and as for makiing complex what schem makes simple, I explain where schem doesn't. You may stte something as not happening and give a quick explination that allows some one to easily disagree( even if your right ).
I MAKE LONG POSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had also heard that the best strategy for building a fleet was to build nothing but trade ports or some such and buy your fleet. Any opinions on that.
All I know is that in IG2 The Kra'hen always had better and more ships then I did no matter if I ruled more then half the map or not. Is there a patch for IG2 that alos for pausing on the multiplayer games so that I could play them?
Perdnut: Multi - Idea: I like the idea as something to add to a game should it be wanted, not hard to do and will add something to worry about. My only disagreement on that is that the factory should produce your ships( essentially the dif being a Human production line vs a machine production line). Side bonuses coud be that research may be done on the factory, to allow increased prod times on all you other factories in your empire(once they are upgraded). In addition the factory co
multi didnt know which word was correct, were or where so I helped. And yes, I am fine. The voice in my head says so.
were is the correct word. were - (wuhr) Were we going? were there any more? where - (wear) Where is that? Where were you? Where are we going? Do you know where this is?
I want the earthers to sell rock videos, the vasarii to sell anti-matter silly puddy, and the advent to sell mind controlling video game chairs with optional rocker seats.
So it is simple, when you see a large hole( large being relative) in your bank account, of 44.95(in the US and in some cases +s/h) then you know that the beta is out. If I had to choose when it will be released, then I would go with either a monday or friday of the last two weeks of march.
Howdy, havent posted in a while, but I have read over what Schem and Para have been typing and I have to say that I agree with some of what each of you say and for the most part schem. It appears to me that if the devs put this into there shielding model for ships, then as mentioned there would be some type of result from any colission. The damage begins to overload the sheilds, as a result power is increased to the shields to compensate and prevent an overload. This conitues until th
To set it straight, the First game was absolutly amazing for its time. RTS wit ha very good 4x elements. The main reason imo that he 2nd game was a flop, was do to the fact that there wasn't anything special about it and there were some elements to the game that made it nearly unplayable. A few small examples: 1) The main warrior race( I forget the name) had a lightening gun that had tremendous range and damage and would always hit. The human equivelant was this meson c
LOL, firing arcs were funny. The ships always pointed bow to the enemy and never which arc has the most weapons on it. I just packed the bow with tons of cap killing madness and the port/starboard/stern arcs with PDSs. That and Carriers with Anvils. Those fighters were the best looking.
I must admit, I like hte pic kosc.
From the Guided Tour, I noticed that the planets seem to be the most important things to an empire or atleast one fo them. I was thinking that it would be absolutly killer if Ironclad took a liitle tiny scrap for Imperium Galactica 2 with the planetary guns. Pretty much, the only thing that IG2 had going for it in my book were those planetary guns. I would load out a planet with them just before an attack, and when I went into combat, seeing little points of light grow in size and in
Just posting to keep this thread near the top, beta info is always good to have up front.
It is possible to disagree with some one without using profaine or beligerent words to get you point across. I didn't use any colorful metaphores when making my statement, and that you didnt't have to lower yourself by saying 'well saying that makes you look like this' to get a point across. The thread wouldn't need cleaning if the profanity wasn't used. All I did was paint a vivid pisture with words. There was nothing ofensive in it and if the devs thought it so, then I apol
I must change my list sadly, 1) SoaSE 2) W.A.R. = Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning 3) Star Trek Online (if I can have a Old school Romulan Warbird and a Kilngon B'Rel aka the BIRD of PREY) and dropping down to will buy when it gets reduced in price list, is CnC3
Yeah, what he said ^
.... I just read you original response to what I wrote Alexander, Originally I just saw the first part where you thought that we have galaxies in the game and I replied to that, then I saw your next what came after that and it is totally uncalled for. Perhaps I went on an extreme with my example but insults are not the way to differ with someone who is wrong all the time *cough* schem *cough* Perhaps a better comparision would be that to one of Picasso's jumbled up art pieces, they ju
Ok I will clear it it. The game play is that of a galaxy containing systems. What you see in that picture are 3 solar systems with something like 20 solar objects per system. Each Game can have I think at max, some where between 10 - 15 solar systems with it looks to me about 20 solar objects. They devs wanted an artistic look for the far out zoom levels so they look like galaxies.
