yeah, but the will deploy on their own if you do nothing. does that halt with auto placement off?

So I figured out, as the Advent, that I can choose between fighters, bombers or mines. However, I have not yet learned how to deploy mines. Is goes like this: I allocate mines and in time they seem to deploy themselves. I would like more control over mine placement. Sometimes I see mines in places where they are absolutely useless. Also, it is my guess that even should mines exist in a system you have just conquered, they become inactive???
Now if only they were mobil like in Twilight of the Anor!!!! ... Starbases aren't mobile in GC2. I know. I have it. And both expansions. Terror stars, which are not a normal starbase, are, but they're mobile in the sense that the Vasari starbase is mobile-they can only move 1pc/wk and their speed is not affected by innate speed bonuses. Aka: They're damn slow. Furtherm
In vanilla Sins, defending wormholes and suns and anywhere else the enemy can phase in was an uber pain in the butt. It stopped me from taking over other systems in large games because a the weakness of your allies and the simple but unavoidable fact that they are just not very good therefore they become fodder while your enemies quickly figure out you are the biggest threat. NO MORE!! Let them come I say!!! Now if only they were mobil like in Twilight of the Anor
I think by wanting to give pirates more and more abilities you are forgetting that they are, in essence, pirates. They have no ship building capability, no research capability, and provide nothing in the form of trade or resources. They are parasites, and must be expunged from the the system at the earliest possible point after they have out-lived their usefulness. While it would be interesting to give them the capabil
Mid to late game, pirates are useless because they are very weak compared to any of the other races' later techs. It would be nice it pirates had the ability to acquire capital ships and do things like fight to the death rather than run. Also, I'd be curious as to what their target priorities are. The BIGGEST weakness is that pirates have to go through many planets to get to the target sometimes and in doing that they may well arrive with little to no ships having been taken
Actually, if you select a allied ship, structure or system, you have two pings, ally attack-ally defend. You click the one you want, then click the system you want targeted, and the AI will respond, it may just take some time because they seem to bring ALL their ships. It's great for weakening pirates or diverting another AI's forces away from the front where you plan to hit.
I know this already, but is
I know how to request an ally defend or attack a target, but finding the ally closest or with sufficient forces is tricky. Is there a way that I can call upon all of my allies at once to defend a planet (or attack an enemy)???
I play Galactic Civ and its expansions. I see some questions about late game and post game ideas in SINS, like: should I continue playing after I win? My thought is simple and has been suggested before. I LOVE random events. They can change a butt kicking into more fun. A new race could pop up and align itself with you, the enemy or no-one. Maybe they have a secret tech that is unknown. Also, pirates should be very strong by the end
Teal, my apologies. You dod NOT offend. Everything is golden. :) As far as bugs go, this one is not a game stopper.
Teal, I think maybe we are talking about two different things because what you describe isn't quite what I am describing. I think I'll email a copy of the game as suggested. I have done this once before but never heard back from Ironclad. I am a loyal customer and probably Ironclad games are all I will buy and play for years to come. I have all Galactic Civ games and expansions and will purchase Entrenchment and all others. These games have everything I have ever
Teal, it sucks, because if you are attacked, your fleet is in no-where land and you have to wait 10 real minutes just to get them to the grav well.
I am runnning on the latest patch available through impulse. My theory is that on saving, the game doesn't report the correct location of the fleet and when you open a saved game it puts the fleet outside of the grav well. In my case, I didn't just lose track of my fleet . . or they didn't just drift. It was my ONLY fleet. Fighters stayed in the well, however. I have the saved game, but I suspect it won't reveal much, because I feel the problem is with the act of
from time to time this happens to me in a game, even with the latest patch. For some reason, my fleet leaves a gravity well where it has been for some time and goes WAY off the map. What's up?? Also, if I pay for pirates to attack my foe, sure'd be nice if my allies dodn't kill the pirates enroute!
I can't see how a human pilot would ever be viable in a small spacecraft fighter unless for kamikaze runs, or at least not without some incredible artificial intelligence helping the pilot. My reasoning is that manuevering a craft that's supposed to be agile and precise would be insanely difficult. Aircraft on earth can make turns and such by using and manipulting air currents and resistance, but
I think that most space games assume a propulsion and navigation system/tech that still resides in sci-fi for us. Speed is irrelavent as is the assumption that battles happen in any particular way. there is the possibility that the inverse of what we assume is at least a possibility in whole or in part. for example, one can assume that manuvouering ability is best served by a smaller object with no other gravitational forces acting on it rather th
I just tried the 14 day trial I must be a tard because I can't figure anything out. there are so many menus it would be too daunting a task for me to learn. Sins is butter for me!
sounds like your issue is that your hard drive is running out if space. your pagefile.
It seems to me that if you are allied with a race that they should gain access to your repair bays. That way if they come all the way away from their own systems to help you they can regenerate and if possible, share antimatter re-charge bays too. perhaps this could be part of diplomacy, like ship or planet vision.
looks cool to me.
no. 8:45 est, still down.
port forwarding is ok, BUT even Linksys itself, in their user forums, says that doing the same in the DMZ menu is preferred. The moment I did that, I could immediately host games.
but i did electronic download.
Usually a game ships with a card that tells what the hotkeys do. since i bought mine through stardock (as opposed to buying it in a store) i got no such card. any way to dl it? thanks.
To really see how your strategy stacks up, you need to play the game in online multiplayer. It's more challenging but also more rewarding. It also has social aspects (make friends online).
hey, i have our game saved ready to play over the weekend
