Very cool. Would you mind posting the process of taking a screenshot (eg displaying the UI etc.)
Toggle cinematic mode (there's a button on the interface) to hide all the overlays, and ctrl-shift-z (I think) to hide the rest of the UI. Print Screen to take the screenshot. This one clearly has a bit of postprocessing. :P

I really haven't had a huge problem with the AI siege frigate rush. On a freshly-conquered volcanic with ~2500 hp and no defenses when they started bombing, the defenses I built during the bombing took a group of 18 siege frigates down to 5. I don't see a huge balance problem here, even if most people don't cram their tactical slots full of turrets. >.> Siege frigates are expensive in terms of fleet points and in terms of actual cost. To put together a siege frigate rush, your opponent

My five star, 131 planet game is at the 6.5 hour mark. There are still two factions in my star system that I have to root out. One of the ten players is gone. Six of the eight have no presence in my solar system--I haven't even seen ships from one of the colors. Also, since teams are unlocked, this could end up taking a very, very long time. On the other hand, you can finish a quick map in an hour.

Only preorders with TotalGaming tokens get you into the beta. Also, the game releases tomorrow. My suggestion is just wait. :P

I'm running an Athlon 64 X2, 2gb of ram, and an Nvidia 8500GT. In beta, I'm playing at 1280x1024 with the highest resolution textures and all the effects turned on. I don't think I've ever dropped below 25 fps. Sins is ridiculously resource-efficient for how good it looks.

Then we can laugh at them for not getting it, and develop a beta tester clique that sees itself as rightly superior to anyone who bought the game after it was actually released. It'll be great!

If the flying-out-of-gravwell-to-attack-civvie-ships bug hasn't been fixed yet, I did some testing when I came across it. If it has, then disregard this. :P Embargo seems to be a great way of causing it: merchants from the current system will sometimes try to leave (maybe if they're already at the phase-jump part of the gravity well? I'll need to test further). There was at least one incidence of a merchant from another system trying to fly through normal space to get to the embargoed s
If its the Vasari one (I can't remember which one has the phase out ability...) it'd make perfect sense for the ship to be able to re-orient, or even move, while under its influence... (While I buy phase-out preventing the ship from being fired on or firing, preventing it from moving seems... odd.)
The action/reaction thing from the ship's engines exists entirely in the phased-out section of space. In the real physical we're-/rea
