Falcon 3.0. I'd have to assume I wasn't playing on especially high realism, given that the game was released when I was two, and I don't think I was playing it much later than '95 or '96.
PLANETSIDE. The only MMOFPS ever created (maybe Huxley will also be this). When it first came out, I had a tear in my eye due to the utter epicness of the battles. Hundreds of soldiers in the air, on the ground, in vehicles, and assaulting via airdrop against defenders of bases scattered on multiple continents. I say "when it first came out", because although it still exists, its just a shadow of its former self.
I miss Planetside so badly. I went back and played a li

1. The longer the chain, the higher your overall trade income. 2. Not entirely sure. With a port at every planet, though, your chain won't be as long as it could. Consider: ------ A | ------ B Where each line is a link on your trade route. The chain from A to B gets shorter if you build trade ports anywhere else. 3. More trade ports per planet == more income at that planet.

We're not extinct. We're just hiding. I don't have nearly enough free time to play much Sins right now. Expect to see me a little more come the end of the summer, trying to develop my online chops a bit.

At the moment, though, LRMs to heavy cruisers (generally) is the way to go. Carriers may end up being more worth it come next patch.

I usually have a Rapture or two in an average Advent fleet, but tend not to go after combat ships. It's all about stealing the support cruisers.

It worked that way, back in the day--culture did actually flip worlds. I don't remember what the reason for the change was, but I do remember being disappointed about it.
I'm rather glad, then, that I have English as a second language, and understand it thoroughly only because I learnt German (so violations of the subjunctive still hurt me deeply ) the hard way, at school.Excuse my (second) rant
If I was you I'd losen up about the subjunctive. >.> That was painful to write.

It's a great pile of fun, even in single player--you and nine AIs on a random huge map with either no teams or teams unlocked is a gaming experience quite unlike any other. On the other hand, you're really not very likely to find a ten-player free for all online. Speaking of which, I need to find time for a few remember-how-to-play games and get a few online matches in sometime.
It gets in the way of all the cool screenshots that I want to take. Unless I missed something and you can hide it completely? ...anyone?-FM
Cinematic mode, for one. For interface hiding, it's one of the following options (I'm at work, and don't remember offhand) 1. Has to be bound in-game 2. Ctrl+Alt+Z 3. Ctrl+Shift+Z

Online matchmaking, while important, is really a very small part of the interface for an RTS. I'll grant I haven't played online yet (cough) but it would have to be basically unusable for me to knock the whole game's interface based on it alone.

Raging Amish:
/snip ...nerf Repulse further... /snip
I say see how it works during the beta and change it further only if necessary. I'm sure you understand how the way Advent competes in the endgame is through fleet cohesion and complementary abilities, and through denying the enemy the same advantages. I daresay Repulse is the most important non-capital-ship ability the Advent has.

I see there hasn't been a response to my question about better selection/subselection behavior. Why is it that there are times when I can have a group of my ships selected and the tab key does not cycle the subselected ship (the one whose health and such show up in the UI, and the one whose abilities will be triggered by the appropriate buttons)? Whenever you have more than one vessel selected, you ought to be able to tab-cycle through them, front to back, for as long as you ca
frigrates and warships only having one type of weapon make no sense when real ships have dozens of armaments.
Your average modern warship actually doesn't, really. Consider the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer: a vertical launch system (admittedly with a few different types of missiles, but one weapon system), a 5-inch gun, a CIWS, and torpedo tubes. That's three offensive weapons--the same number that capital ships in Sins carry. For a more extreme example, the Oli

I'd say I'd prefer a system like in the Total War series, but I've played too much of the Total War series to say that. :P

Anyway. A pair of very important interface question: Does selecting a stack of your units in the empire tree subselect one of them yet? Using Guardians or Subverters or any other group of units whose abilities you don't want to use all at once is painful the way it is now. Or was this fixed some time ago, and has it just been too long since I've played for an extended period to notice? Do orders against enemy stacks queue against the whole stack? C'mon, Ironclad
