Agreed! I am super happy to have the G19 KB now. With this game and Guild Wars 2, I finally feel like the keyboard was worth the purchase! I hope they are planning on expanding the display further. It would be awesome if they had the background image set as the item selected (could use the same still image that shows in game when you select something) and has the name, ship type, and other info about said selected item. That would work well for a quick tab romp through the fleet to qu

I'll add to this thread. I'd like to see more diplomacy options. Being able to demand from and have missions for the other factions. I'd like to see more trade abilities in order to bolster ones own economy or cripple another players economy beyond simply killing their trade ships. Things like trade sanctions and embargos might be a nice touch. Other things that might be interesting would be the ability to create or destroy a planet/star system, but as a cooperative

I dunno, I dont find impulse that bad. I've had less issues with impulse then steam at getting things to work properly. Both are great programs relative to the true junk that is out there, but they both have their ups and downs. Luckily for us, stardock seems to be a company that actually wants their products to succeed and wants their customer base to be happy so they are willing to help, improve, and generally lend a hand in making the experience as pleasant as possible fo
Starbases not upgrading at all.
Ahh, that would explain why my vasari phase stabilization tech on starbases isnt working and why my starbases are being destroyed as easily as a frigate. Negative money seems to be an issue with the fortification (vasari tree). I've noticed that if I dont touch that tree, the econ works properly, but once you start researching in that tree, the negative values are allowed.

I'm actually having issues with regular phase stabilizers now in a new game. They were working early on in the game and then simply stopped working. All of them. All planets tested have either a phase stabilizer or a starbase with phase stabilizer upgrade. Also tested over time in case the phase stabilizer upgrade of the starbase takes time (the other upgrades say 50s, but phase stabilizer says nothing). So, Planet w/ phase stabilizer to planet with phase stabi

Notes: Vasari, 100% research completed, playing with 2 other friends and 4 random normal AIs. Negative resource values. Able to build things without having the resources. Mostly researches. I've built several researches without actually having the resources. Hosting a game resets back to setup screen everytime a friend clicks to join. Once each friend has clicked join, it stops and allows them to join the game normally. Carrier capital ship on auto up

While I'm excited and anxious to get this release, I'd rather have it work properly and be the best it can be by taking extra time with it getting it right. And thank you SD crew for letting us know and being straight with us. I wish other companies would follow your lead. *cough* EA *cough*. RA3 has been out almost a month now and it plays like an early beta. It is the best CnC that EA has produced to date, but the amount of bugs, crashes, mp instability, and other annoyances suggest it coul

I've been running vista on the laptop I bought last year because it came with it. It hasnt been bad persay. It's just been kinda "meh". You look at the front end UI of OSX and vista is archaic in comparison. I, personally, want more customizability in the UI. I know I can always go to stardock and buy some, but that still isnt 100% custom to me. And I dont want to have to learn to code windows just to do something that should be built in and readily available. Further, the sideba

After SWG, I will not support Lucas Arts or Sony again. No more SW movies, games, or anything else from Lucas and no PSX of any variety (not that I've ever owned a PS anyway), but no more sony products of any sort. But anyway, my moderate, $1400, year old laptop can run things like Oblivion, CnC3, and various other graphically and CPU intensive games at near max settings. From what i've seen, FU is not even near Oblivion in the graphics department or CPU intense as most other FPS or R

I recommend rolling over every icon and clicking on them to see what they do. Play on easy 1v1 gigantic map no pirates and just get a feel for what everything does. Thats what I did and after 2-3 games I had a pretty firm handle on how the game plays.
Bioware is not owned by EA. They are just deveolping ME for them. BW has been working for alot of other Publishers in the past like Atari(NWN) and Lucas Arts(KOTOR).
Actually, EA did buy VG Holding Corp, Bioware and Pandemic a few months back. Bioware is owned by EA now. Here is one of many articles on the subject: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/826/826662p1.html

One other thing I found was that interplanetary rally points kept dropping at random intervals. It would be nice to simply click on a star itself and making a full system rally point on a single planet AND have it stick! :) As for the previous responses, I am running in full screen and the scroll problem happens after a while of playing. Also, I do use right click, but I still end up getting interupted by tradeships travelling around. As for the wormholes, I tried several different ways

My brother and I were just playing online and found some post 1.04 bugs. First, I sent him over 50k credits, but he received only 10k or so and this was reflected in the end game stats. So basically 40k disappeared into the abyss. Similar happened with metal and crystal. I was holding shift to send 250 at a time. My funds reduced 250 and his funds didnt increase that much. Ships kept getting "stuck" on planets, stars, and structures. Had an insanely difficult time find

I dont remember where I read it, but I dont think it's limited to 3 installs anymore. If it is, I may mean only 3 active installs total. So you would deactivate one when you get a new machine or configuration and reactivate it on a the new one. I dont think you have to worry about limited installs. I remember reading somewhere, but I cant quote where off hand. It was probably on "gamingsteve" site. I'd check there for verification. Oh, right, from the quote above: 'You'll s

I'm running vista w/ 2.0 GHz core 2 duo, 4 Gigs RAM, 8400 nvidia card and the game runs perfect save for when advent bubble ships are in proximity. Then the game slows way down. I havent noticed if my 2 cores are splitting the load or not, but things seem to run smooth even late game with 6 stars and 150+ planets. Only problem I end up with is the game crashing or minidumping. Might try vista or adding more RAM if you have the means. But specifically I've no clue on getting processors t

I've been MIA for a few weeks now due to finals. Hopefully in 2 weeks I'll be able to actually play something again! It's not that I dont want to play. It's just I dont have time for any games atm. Oh well, such is life. Hope 1.1 comes out around the time I'm able to play again :)

I, for one, am thrilled that there is finally a game that rivals Civ in terms of scale and length but is in real time. I've been playing CnC3 since release and I just cant stand playing it compared to SoaSE. CnC3, match is decided in the first 2 minutes of play, the rest is just cleanup and wait to get destroyed. If you arent a rusher, there's no point in playing. It comes down to, if I absolutely have nothing better to do, I'll play CnC3. But if I have an hour or two (which is the usual time I

Species 8472 from startrek (Armada II had them as playable). Leviathans in Farscape. Technically, I dont know if any "space dwelling" creatures were truly organic. It would depend on if they were carbon based or not. On further analysis, all newer scifi creations are technically SiO2, Cu, and other semiconductive material based as they are rendered digitally via series of transistors, capacitors, etc... None of which use carbon to any extent if at all. SO, yeah, m

Meh, I dont see the point in "renting" a game. Granted the Beta's are usually free, but then again, its not a finished/polished final game, so again, what's the point? The only "MMO" game I play anymore is Guildwars, mostly because it doesnt cost me anything to play beyond the initial purchase. That and it really is a well made and fun game. AoC just looks like another attempt at making money off of an MMO that will "try" to be the next WoW. I personally despise WoW, but I respect the f

Start with 1 or 2 easy AI on a small map. Dont build anything, but go through every menu and button and click each to see what it does. Mouse over each research tech to see what those do. There are researches for economy, thats always a good start. Mouse through the ship building options. They are each fundamentally different so its difficult to be confused as to which ship to build. Build a few and try them out on different things. You dont need to worry about "winning" the first few games. <br

Well, maybe the "cleansing" is necessary. After all they are 3 completely different races of beings. Perhaps the tech need oxygen to live while it would be toxic to the vasari, so they need to wipe the planet clean of oxygen and rebuild using arsenic or whatever. And the bombardments contain warheads that effectively neutralize the oxygen while supplying the arsenic to the planets atmosphere. Ok, kind of a long shot, but at least its something other then why is it this way. Well thats w

Hehe, well, atleast it isnt just me getting the minidumps of death. I'm still trying to figure out why I'm getting Visual Studio errors with no info. That I'm pretty sure is a prob with the nvidia drivers.
