LOL, ok, so THATs what the patch note meant. It wasnt clear to me. Thanks. And, ok, I guess the enemy must have had that planet. All it did really was adjust my focus toward that planet. Well feel free to continue to use this as a 1.02 bug report. I am glad to know now that those are intentional.
Just played the Advent. They are incredibly faster and have a more stable economy then Vasari. Also, those carriers are deadly. Either they are a little over powered, or the Vasari are under powered overall. I can totally see why people favor the Advent.
I didnt see a post for 1.02 bugs, so here it is. 1) Holding shift in black market no long seems to let you sell in bulk. The number stays at 100 and shift doesnt do anything. 2) Artifact planets are being displayed as having artifacts before they have even been explored. The icon showed up on a planet that I hadnt been to. Perhaps it was because I was advent and hadnt been advent before, so maybe they have some inherent skill for detecting artifacts. Just thought I should post
Sorry, the server lagged and this got posted twice...
Could just buy a $5 mouse. Thats what my sister did when she started playing the sims. She found it much easier to control and enjoy when she could use the scroll wheel.
I still think the Vasari voice over sounds like the Rulons from the 1988 cartoon DinoRiders. It is starting to grow on me though.
I'd like a little more movement in ships. I'd like to see the squadrons use the z-axis a little more like diving under the ships and firing upward toward the underbelly. I'd also like to see them bank. Right now they simply turn with no tilt. Rallypoints in other systems. Not sure if this is in the game or not, but it would be nice if planet 1, 2, & 3 would all send newly created ships to planet X. Hotkey for superweapons? There might be one, but I couldnt find it. I just had t
Just played a 9 hour game with Vasari. The voices have kinda grown on me now. Will probably do the same with TEC and Advent tomorrow and this weekend. Think ultimately I'll stick with Vasari, though their econ is tough to manage at times even with research upgrades. Nice to know others have the same taste in mice as me :)
Wow, that was pretty good. I wanna know how they disabled the UI. For some reason I cant seem to find that out. Oh well. Kudos!
Woot! Just spent that last 9 hours in a small random 2 player normal AI with fast research, high resources, and normal speed game. I of course had to capture everything and destroy the pirates while researching all the techs and building every ship I possibly could. Oh what a blast. The pirates were a pain in the butt! They wiped like 5 fleets with 4+ capital ships in each (not all at once, but over the course of the game). Eventually took 5 capital bombardment ships and 50 million squadrons of

I have the feeling alot of people are drawn toward the advent. I mean who could resist that seductive voice!
I found the manual gives an incorrect directory to the settings area. I eventually found it by random clicking in the general area. Try the following directory. C:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Hope that helps.
Hey all, we've had a couple days to spend with SOASE and I was wondering which factions people prefer and why they prefer them. Please include pros and cons about your prefered faction. I would have to say my prefered faction is the Vasari simply because their ships look awesome. What's odd is that two of their ships resemble my mouse! <img src="http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/
I too would like the MMB and RMB camera functionality switchable. I keep pressing MMB in thoughts of rotation and RMB in attempts to slide and I keep getting a rude awakening :) Its not all bad though, I typically get to appreciate the pretty engine with smooth camera movement. I simply love the engine overall.
Oh, this company gets me all teary eyed... *sniff* A gaming company that actually listens to its players and adjusts their product toward their wishes, hopes, and desires... *wipes away tear* Oh its a thing of beauty... I thought that kind of consideration and dedication was lost in the gaming world, but then, BAM, here comes a developer who actually CARES about their players and the quality of their game... *blows nose* It just gets me all choked up inside... Hurray for Ironlore and Stardock!
Hey All! I'll add this first: http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/sins-of-a-solar-empire/849840p1.html It's not the official review mind you, but an "out of the box" segment denoting a "promising" ranking. Anyway, I figured that there is a day or two before we got more reviews on this game and many people want them now, so I'll fill in my experiences with the *cough*seven*cough* hours I got to spend on SOASE yesterday. First of all, installation and activation went completely
